i don't understand why Ware has four precious charters that he uses to field 4 cars that are such consistent backmarkers, just one of them finishing in the top 20 is a good day for that organization. With all the reports about more teams wanting to get into NASCAR, he might be better off selling two of the charters, going down to two cars, and using the money from the charters to make his two remaining cars competitive.

People should. I met her when she ran her first speedway race at Kansas in a rented car for an ARCA race. I was an official at the time. I have never seen a more determined person to do things the right way, and soaked up every bit of information she could. When I was doing the initial under car inspection, as I was rolling from back to front on my creeper, she was right along with me bent down at the rocker panels asking my what I was looking at when I would reach a part or measure something. This was back when ARCA always had enough cars that some wouldn't make the race. She started somewhere in the upper 30's and finished around 15th in a car that usually finished in the 5th to 10th area, with an experienced driver. People just took advantage of her, so she started her own team that in the beginning she funded herself and even to this day, without the budget others have, has kept running as hard as the money allows. And she's still there, while not only this guy, but a couple of others like him, pocketed her money, tried to steal her equipment, and all. They are gone, in jail, or scamming others in some other business.

This is by far the worst NASCAR team owner. However the worst team owner in racing history has to be Andrea Sassetti an Italian shoe designer who owned a team in F1 called Andrea Moda that was kicked out of the championship before the 1992 season even ended because Sassetti put his drivers in danger multiple times by having them qualify on dry tires in wet conditions. The reasoning behind this was that the team was too poor to afford rain tires which are a requirement in F1 during wet weather. Also during the Canadian Grand Prix the team qualifed without engines because Sassetti had failed to pay the engine supplier. Lastly Sassetti was arrested during the Belgian Grand Prix for forging auto part invoices. Basically he was caught writing fake bills for parts he had supposedly bought for the team when in reality he never bought the parts. The team only made the grid for one race and retired after 11 laps in that event.

I never got the car on the track but did do multiple autocross events in my scion tc, and track days in my Toyota 86, all with a big magnetic "79" track decal on the side. Joined I-Racing and all my cars had the same number. When I got a job as a mechanic in a shop where all the parts guys were Nascar fanatics, they always poked fun of the number I chose to plaster over my car. Never understood why until now. Now I don't know if I want to change it, or it keep it like some sort of black sheep insignia. Sounds like not too many would claim that number anymore.

Just claim it is out of respect for Frank Warren, an independent owner/driver from the 70s who ran 79.

Mine are Turner Scott (Sorenson and others), JD Stacy (obviously) and quite frankly Carl Kiekhaefer (philosophy on winning a title that nearly killed a driver). All three had success (especially Carl) in the sport but how they went about things overshadows everything.

Rick Russell sounds like he could give Andrea Sassetti of Andrea Moda infamy a run for his money in terms of being a complete pain in the ass for those who worked for him. Mind you, if you know the history of Andrea Moda, then you'll know what an absolute fustercluck of an F1 team it was (where they were running one car properly and making the other one so dangerous as to threaten the life of the other driver)

Finishing last in a cup race could still pay 10k-30k dollars. Now that's not enough to support a serious race team every single week but what if you only needed one car and one engine for an entire season and just 2 sets of tires each weekend? Thus the start and park. Build one car good enough to qualify. Practice on one set of tires to get the set-up, slap a new set on for qualifying, make the show, run a couple laps, park it and collect your money. No wrecked race cars to repair or replace, no huge tire bills, no blown motors, no pit crew to pay for. It was good money.

Video idea (yes I have asked this before): The Worst Rookie Of The Year Battle
@JohnSmith-mk5jt3 жыл бұрын
It's gonna be between 2010, 2011, or 2012. But I'm gonna say 2012, because out of the three, the rookie that year (Stephen Leicht) made the least amount of starts of the three ROTYs in their winning seasons (15 starts for Leicht, 30 starts for Lally, 28 starts for Conway)
@BrassMaster843 жыл бұрын
@@JohnSmith-mk5jt true, but I think Lally won the worst battle, as he was the only driver to compete in more than a handful of races. He could have shown up, taken the green flag, taken a s#!+ in the driver's seat, and then left... and he still would have won ROTY
