As someone who is interested in stats and alt-universes, I legitimately enjoyed this. I've always been looking for someone who could document even 10 career mode seasons, as most stop at 5 at most, because they have won the title by then, and the game gets too easy, so I never get to see the long-term ramifications.

I did this with NHL 2003, Sergei Federov ended up getting a 312 point season, over 165 goais a year 5 seasons in a row and the Blue Jsckets ended up as 12 time cup champions

I did a simulation for a couple seasons in Thunder 03. In the first season, Ricky Craven won 33 races and the championship. Next season he won 25 races, but lost the championship to Tim Sauter, the rookie who won only 1 race. He won every race in 2004, then only won 2 more races in the next 17 years.

I've done this in season mode and wow... by 2022 so many drivers had retired that only 40 cars were starting each race, which is funny indeed because NASCAR ended up cutting the field to 40 cars in real life. And Dale Jr. ended up getting like 6 championships with around 120 wins

This was awesome. It's funny how goofy and odd the silly season and replacement driver mechanics are. The Thunder games are the only racing games that have time progression like a franchise mode. I wish future racing games had dynamic rosters with retirements, team swaps and rookies.

The fact that EA never tried to do some sort of "Head coach" (crew chief, I KNOW) mode is a complete travesty. Imagine this but you're calling the shots for car development, pitstops, which line to take in 2-line ovals and such.

From other’s experience, driver retirements make “Finish Ahead of” contracts an automatic loss. Would love to see a variant where we sim the career but try and win a championship as hard as possible

What this simulation and game shows me is what the sport could maybe look like if every top driver from that season in 2003 never faltered and kept their form at the top. The drivers who succeeded in this play through were considered the 5-10 best of the sport at that time. Obviously I don’t think Jeff would have ever gotten to 200 but if he would’ve been Jimmie for many of those mid years between 2008-2013 he could easily have maybe 110 wins
