Hey everyone, I clipped out a segment that would have been at 19:20 to 19:30 due to a copyright claim. It covered Peyton Manning breaking Brett Favre's record for all-time passing yards, and then getting benched for Brock Osweiler in the same game after throwing 4 interceptions. Apologies for having to do that.

3:20 what a ridiculous comment. "Oddly enough they owe clausen a thank you for doing his part in getting cam newton and ushering in a golden age of Carolina panthers football" Hate to splash the cold water of life in OP's face but jimmy clausen has the same amount of rings as cam newton. Cam was tremendously gifted athletically and had the spirit of a warrior. He's one of my all time faves, but when he wasn't 100%, unlike guys like Tom, Payton, Aaron...even Brees, favre, rivers, guys like that could have defenses reeling, evening the playing field when they weren't feeling 100%. Cam couldnt do that. Even worse, his skill set got him hurt. His warrior spirit and leadership may have won them a couple games...but unfortunately that just meant they weren't going to get a good draft pick. He only made it to one big game. He played horribly and acted like a child after the game. The panthers have seen some of the most entertaining players that played with the kind of heart and drive you'd give anything to have on your team...like one of a kind generational talent....with 2/3 literally having defenses having to come up with new schemes just for them in cam newton and Christian mccaffery. Steve smith, while not unprecedented In approach was an incredible talent and fun as hell to watch. Work ethic of Antonio brown, professionalism, and the warrior spirit of Julian edelman. Such a shame cmc and ss didn't get a ring. I loved carolina cam but when he lost sb50, he showed zero grace and has acted like a true asshole since leaving. He doesn't deserve to be a champion. Comparing Geno and Goff is a bad comparison since you're implying Goff didn't shine until he went to Detroit, as if the Rams failed him. Goff was a good but not great QB with the Rams. He took them to a SB. Geno, on the other hand, showed NOTHING until he went to Seattle.

"His rookie season serves as an example of why NFL teams are hesitant to throw rookie quarterbacks into the fire with such a lackluster Supporting Cast in today's NFL" Man, if only someone told today's NFL this example, I don't think any of the following teams got that picture with their current or just recently dropped players: Bills, Jets (twice even), Dolphins, Patriots (maybe twice), Jaguars, Bengals, Broncos, Cardinals maybe? (You mentioned Fitz being on the older side with Rosen and he was Kyler's best target in his rookie season), Panthers, Commanders, and the Giants (who may do the same to their next QB as well, considering Nabers is the only worthwhile target as of right now). For those that may look at a few of these options and think that they are not busts like Gabbert was in Jacksonville, I bring you the exact quote of lackluster supporting cast and thrown into the fire in their rookie season. We have things like Josh Allen's offensive weapons were a 30 year old Shady (who Allen had more rushing yards than that season) and his best target was Zay Jones. And say like the Commanders where Jayden Daniels' best target is... Well, the same best target Dwayne Haskins had, but older. We could also add the Bears on this list for Fields but not Caleb Williams, which is why I didn't list them since clearly they tried to set up Caleb to succeed... emphasis on tried, but they did give him a good supporting cast. Maybe I missed someone, but there are a lot of teams that don't qualify. Like Packers or Raiders who didn't have great WR cores when their young QBs took the helm, but they weren't thrown into the fire in their Rookie Season. AoC and Love weren't the starting QBs, they were drafted to sit and learn.

Per ESPN, after his draft, Deshone Kizer called himself a mix of Tom Brady's mind and Cam Newton's body, and says he has the ability to be "the greatest quarterback to ever play." He also said, "No one else can do what I do," technically, he was right.

If you give a rookie qb the right tools and let him learn instead of just throwing them under the bus is vital. Look at Tom Brady. Drafted 199th overall. Sat on the bench behind Drew Bledsoe and was given the opportunity to learn and grow. I'm a lifelong Bucs fan, but never a Brady fan. Hell, I wanted Baker straight out of the draft. We were blessed with Jamis Winston. A guy who is apparently color blind when it comes to football jerseys.
