Shane's win was OK IMO as Shane has some of the most entertaining moments in WWE history and deserved a little accolade from a throw-away title/tournament, but Braun's heel turn was very unexpected and pointless, kinda like a Big Show heel turn. Like Brian said, it was ONLY a means to garner cheers for champ Roman and The Shield...little did ears-plugged-and-head-ducked WWE realize that fans liked Braun (big shocker, he's been over the entirety of 2018) and Drew Mac! It's also made worse that big bad monster Braun needed help to beat The Shield... typical heel writing for Non-Creative.

Oh man! I've been waiting for this. If I were to make a list of worst moments in WWE, I would add the Universal Title being cursed. I'm not joking. Ever since that belt was introduced, it's brought nothing but bad luck to the company. From Finn losing the title in 24 hours due to injury (and look at where he's at in terms of booking years later) to Brock winning the damn thing AGAIN. In 20. EIGHT. TEEN! That belt makes less appearances on WWE than John Cena, and he's a part timer who can do movies, interviews, and show up to WWE for one match. And then there's WWE's poor TV ratings. Even though Smackdown may have a few bad shows here and there, Raw is just...ugh. Bad booking of matches, shitty storyline segments (This is your life, Old Day, Bobby's sisters), and constant pushing of The Authority and/or GM to be added in storylines (to the point where people are saying 11/26/2018 was the worst episode ever). It's gotten so bad, the McMahons had to show up this week just to shake things up. And for some reason, Smackdown got involve because...reasons? That's my two cents.

Immediately I think of Alister Black's injury. It derailed what should have been a FANTASTIC match at Brooklyn IV...but instead we got another encounter between #DIY teammates. Not that it was bad, but I had enough of that head-to-head after Chicago II, and I thought that match was nowhere near as good as their first one.

I don't feel like Becky Lynch's injury or Roman's Leukemia belong here. It seems thematically inappropriate. Maybe it's just me, but I feel this list should contain things that WWE did to themselves with poor booking or business decisions, with an honorable mention given to Roman because it was outside their control. As for Becky, I don't agree that the injury stalled her momentum at all. The image of her bloody smile just did even more wonders for her character direction, pushed her to even greater heights, and will likely move her match with Rousey to an even bigger stage.

Brian forgot something about Braun, its not just his heel turn that was bad but everything with him this year was bad. Losing a triple threat at the Rumble, bad. Winning the tag belts with a kid, horrible. Losing at Crown Jewel, shit. Joining forces with McIntyre and Ziggler, bad. The company pissing away talent has been bad this year too. Samoa Joe should have won the title from Styles at some point, Shinsuke winning the Rumble only to have a disappointing match at Mania and continuously kicking Styles in the balls in their matches, probably the biggest waste of a Rumble winner since Big John Studd. Finn Balor is probably the most over guy on Raw and he's just the smiling jackass who's happy to be there and by the way where's the demon, the coolest part of his gimmick? Let's not forget Bobby Roode and Lashley, 2 very talented guys who were huge stars outside the company, and have had nothing but shitty pointless angles on Raw. Zayn and Owens were the best heels in the company......that got pissed away. Should've put the tag belts on them and made the division good. And finally Ronda Rousey. They book her as the biggest badass, but her promos are bad, and in every title match she's had she got her ass kicked the whole time and fought from underneath to win at the end. So is she the baddest bitch on the planet or an underdog? She's not a badass, Becky and Charlotte are the badasses of the women's division. Hopefully in 2019 they stop pissing away talent.

The frustrating thing with Strowman's turn is they easily could have had him stay a face who found these other guys who hated the same people he did out of necessity. At least with her they've finally righted the ship, and with him, he'll come back from injury the monster that everyone loves, but that's still be very frustrating.

The bad booking of Asuka should be worst of the year for 2018. After her huge build up with the streak while in NXT she should have been either at the top or near the top of the women's division for all of this year, but Vince ignored all of that and had her dropped to mid-card status for most of the year. The fact that he was surprised at the huge reaction the crowd gave her when Becky was deciding who to take her place for Survivor Series just shows how out of touch he is about who the fans really like. Having her lose to Charlotte was one thing, but having her lose back to back pay-per-views to Carmella was completely idiotic and a huge waste of talent for the best in-ring performer in the women's division.

It was having her job out twice to someone like Carmella and in the process they had Asuka acting like she wasn't that bright. After that terrible feud Asuka was demoted to mid-card status where she remained for the rest of the year until recently. There was no reason for any of that except for horrible booking. The fact that Vince didn't realize how popular she was until recently just shows how out of touch he is with the wrestling fans.

Traditionally, wrestlers used to actually connect with their strikes, pulling their punches so that there was less impact, but now they are being taught to throw legitimate punches that barely miss their opponents, which is a similar technique used by stuntmen in Hollywood movies. Unfortunately this means that when a punch does accidentally connect, there is a real danger of people being KO'd and suffering concussions. It's a classic example of WWE trying to change the basic rules of how professional wrestling works, and it coming back to bite them.

Tbh I think i would take off Becky getting injured yes it sucked but in checking wrong might be a blessing in disguise. Think about it most likely Becky was either supposed 2 lose clean or get D.Q'ed like Charlotte which at the time be wrong 4 her run. Not only that even tho raw being attacked was awesome there was no build up besides that now they can build a proper feud & can even finally pull the trigger on the 4 vs 4 horsewomen match we been wanting. As far as their Saudi Arabia contract is concerned ... why don't they just make it a house show? No promotion, no American PPV deals ... hell, don't even advertise it on the WWE Network (although it would still be accessible on the WWE Network, no more so than any Chris Benoit match). Oh, and make sure every match is a Midcarder vs. Jobber match that doesn't go over five minutes each. That would technically comply with their contractual obligation to perform shows but still show that they don't care one bit for Saudi Arabia's human rights abuses.

Great list, but I feel like there's a lot that you missed that could possibly rank higher: - The booking of Daniel Bryan's return to in ring competition (it should have been huge, with many great storylines) - The lackluster feud between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura (on paper it should have been amazing) - The slow reintroduction of the McMahons as authority figures and regular parts of the show (no one wants to see this in 2018) - The botching of NXT called up talent (did they get any right this year?) - Random heel turns galore with no build up (Braun Strowman, Bobby Lashley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Big Show, Daniel Bryan) - The whole Sasha Banks and Bayley program (why did this exist???) - The complete misuse of Kevin Owens (why do they not see his potential?) - Ignoring both brands' tag team divisions other than the same few title contenders (why aren't they building up new talent?) - Injuries (this isn't the WWE's fault per se, but this year seemed especially bad and with the number of high profile injuries, you wonder if their rigorous touring schedule should be changed) - Shawn Michaels ending quite possibly the best retirement in the business for...that (he left in a great match, by his own choice, and stuck to it for so many years)

Roman Reigns getting leukemia (mostly for a human being I watched every week getting leukemia, but god damn did it also make Raw even worse and made Roman not winning the title at Mania even worse) 3. Raw post-Mania 4. Asuka vs. Carmella There's others but those are the worst ones for me by far, unless I'm forgetting something.

I thought about this a good bit and while I was VERY bitter about #5 at first, I thought about it and I think it was a pretty neat shift, even if it was unintentional. Asuka was this dominant monster until the streak ended but when I watched her climb the ladder at TLC for the win, it hit me that SHE was the underdog. She went from dominant to underdog in a frustrating, but admittedly natural progression.

I also think that as an honourable mention in this video, one of the worst things to happen in 2018 was Hiromu Takahashi’s injury that he suffered at the hands of a botch from Dragon Lee. It was so bad that some are saying he may never be able to wrestling ever again as a result of this injury, I hope to god that this isn’t true and our beloved ticking time-bomb can return to the ring as soon as possible.

I know Evolution PPV was good but the PR crap that came with it was distasteful & insulting. Having heels & baby faces hug & cheer was crap & made the women look like idiots. They announced this PPV in June & kept on saying "first all women's PPV" & when the PPV was getting closer pushing Crown Jewel over this was embarrassing. Go home show mentioned nothing of this PPV & during the PPV a Crown Jewel video package was shown!

Regarding #5 - The biggest problem I had with Asuka losing to Charlotte was in HOW she lost. She tapped out. That's a conscious decision to give in rather than keep fighting, and that is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what someone with a 500+ winning streak would do. Then to have her hug Charlotte and praise her was completely wrong. All it did was weaken Asuka as a character.
