I'm glad you made it through. I'm Canadian and the first time I visited Vietnam for 4 months my travel agent somehow got me approve for a 6 months stay every time. I don't know the technicality but I guess I should be grateful for not having to do a monthly entry.

Aye! This is the video I was looking for to clear some of my stress, kind of lol. Been confused on the visa rules since they keep changing the deadlines. Out of all the videos and research I've been looking into, no one has shown the reality of these Visa run situations, appreciate u

Thank you, in general life is very easy in Vietnam. Just sometimes the visas are annoying.

I was nervous for you, brother. I had a hiccup as well when I flew out to Vietnam this year. The thing is that immigration here nearly didn't let me fly out of Australia because my Visa had Allowed to Entry Through Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Checkpoint) but they said it supposed to say Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City) checkpoint, they also told me that I needed to go to a travel agent at the airport and explain the situation to them, to which I did but if the travel agent said otherwise I couldn't go through with that particular Visa I would have to fork out $500 for another Visa, it was so stupid but luckily I was able to go through with the Visa I had.. anyway glad Vietnam is doing the 90 day Visa extension.. I love it when you said 3:04 "if you want to live in the best country in the world"

Vietnam is making it hard for anyone to come to Vietnam. They make you apply a few days in advance and then reject it for all sorts of reasons. I got stuck in Thailand for 9 days a couple months ago while I was waiting to get things sorted out. Anyways, seems like it will be better soon.

@TravisTravelsVN let's just hope so for yours and everyone who wants to travel to Vietnam, I do plan to come back again soon.. once it gets better, I'll definitely book a flight over.. seems to me I miss Vietnam more than before, I guess I see it through my eyes and perspective. You've rejuvenated my love for the country more and more - thank you brother

I've had "trouble" with my visa or my daughter's passport etc. several times when entering or leaving Viet Nam. Sadly, they were shaking me down for a bribe.

dumb question, do I get a new passport in my embassy when the pages are full? You obviously didn't travel back to the US after that...

Just because i enjoy cannabis I may look to ex-pat in Thailand. I hear you can rent a nice apartment outside of the main city areas and live for about $1k a month all in? IDK looking at all my options.

Good video. This is my second of yours I have seen after YT recommended one of your others for some reason. ;) Is the 30 day requirement finished? What is crime like in Vietnam? Is it friendly for westerners? Thanks
@TravisTravelsVN7 ай бұрын
30 day ended back in August 2023, I believe. Crime is almost non-existent here. Most westerners love to live in Vietnam

@@TravisTravelsVN thanks for the reply. I was wondering if the native Vietnamese are ok with people doing what you are doing? For instance I heard that native Hawaiians do not warmly welcome people from the mainland moving to the islands. Thanks

Vietnamese are generally very friendly to foreigners and proud that foreigners want to live and travel in their country

How can you do visa runs? Don't you have to send in an application to get approval to get back into Vietnam?
@TravisTravelsVN5 ай бұрын
This video was from when you could still leave and come back same day. Nowadays you can still do it this way but you have to pay a visa agent to fast track the visa in 1 day.
@Paul-cg1bn5 ай бұрын
That's the trick. It makes it more worth it now that we get 90 days instead of just 30. Thanks!

Hello Travis, thank you for your insightful videos. I am a Nigerian with a Higher National Diploma in computer science, TEFL certificate, and 1+ years of teaching experience. i wish to come over with a tourist visa and look for a teaching job. Kindly advise me accordingly.

Hanoi is the best opportunity for teaching English but also Ho Chi Minh city. I would suggest joinng some facebook groups and try to contact companies beforehand. If a company offers you a job they can help with visa and work permits

@TravisTravelsVN2 ай бұрын
Yes every 90 days pretty annoying. But most of the time I have some trip I would be doing anyways. So really its only about once a year, I have to leave just for the sake of a visa run.

@TravisTravelsVN once a year? Are they relaxed on the 90 day limit? That would make me super nervous. Looking for a place I can stay 6 months to indefinitely.
