Guys don't get the opportunity to play this many games without giving people some reason to believe they might get better. Someone with highly-rated-prospect status or at least one tool that seems to have potential to 'break out' once he 'finally puts it all together' might be given more leash, at least on a bad team, in the hopes they'll finally play up to what people expect. Players doing the same awful performance from whom no one's expecting better play any day now don't get the chance to play 50+ games, they get released.

Hey! .... As a Dodger fan, all of us had his running joke in 2022 that when Craig Krumble came in, it was game over..for us. At the very least, he'd load the bases or get some runners on, and or have to have someone else come in that very inning, and waste other relievers. He was a joke all year, and we were wanting him DFA'd since June! When the Phillies took him in 2023, we fans were going to Philly chats and giving our condolences. " You're gonna hate this guy! you're gonna lose a bunch cuz of him. You're NOT gonna fix anything in the playoffs with this guy anchored to the back of your Ferrari. Lol". And They were doing the same thing we dodged fans did in the off-season when the O's signed him! .... " WHY " ?! FUN FACT: We won 111games in 2022. Kimberly - was 1-6 with 6 blown saves ( 4 we ended up losing). 10 fn game's we lost cuz of him! The Mlb record is 116 The NL record is: 112. If we could've won 2 more games, we'd be best all time in NL, plus 3rd best all-time in MLB. MS 116 • 1998 Yanks 114 • Reds n other team tied for 3rd with 113. Pitt & ? Tied for 4th with 112. And we're tied with Mets for 4th at 111. Our previous closer: Kenly Jansen: 5-2 5 blown ( 2 lost) We have the record! . We have the avg WAR closer: 3-3 5 blown (3 lost) : we win 4 more games to put at us 115 wins, to be best in NL wins of all time. 2nd most all alone in MLB . Soooooo, u can see where we're a little salty 🧂🧂. Lol What happened to the O's this year? Lol .... Same thing that'll happen to the team that signs him this season coming up! I hope it's the Padres!?

He's young enough to catch on with a team, but not with the Dodgers. 2024 was the last year of his contract. With the return of Glasnow, Ohtani, May and Kershaw, etc. from the injured list, they should have plenty of starters especially with the signing of Snell, and the availability of Yamamoto. Miller only pitched so much because of the injuries.

@PurpleSwordfish
@PurpleSwordfish Ай бұрын
@@madethecut Just admit it was a bad take in regard to Nick Gordon. He was a Twins prospect, he's 28, there's not a lot the Marlins are going to do to develop a 28-year-old 1st round bust. Cabrera might just not be that great and Luzardo has had good seasons since coming to the Marlins. 2.0 WAR in 2022, 4.0 WAR in 2023 and 0.9 WAR last year dealing with injuries. He got better enough with the Marlins to get trade interest from multiple teams and a somewhat decent return despite the continued injury concerns. Would you give the Marlins credit for "developing" Jake Burger? I mean, factually you wouldn't because he wasn't a Marlins prospect. But, *you* wouldn't because you just have to pile on a team that is bad because they don't spend money. That's not about development, that's financial.

It's unfortunate that Maldonado's personal stats have gotten so bad, because his real strengths don't really show up on his stat sheet. Pitchers love him, because he's very good at calling games. And he's a great leader in the clubhouse. Unfortunately, age has very much caught up with him. I think his best bet at this point is to go into management. If he does, I'd be quite surprised if he wasn't heading a major league club within the next 5-10 years.

At 68 at bats, was hitting.067 ! He was hitting.130 up until August, then went up to a whooping.167 he also hit into many DP's, and lost a step on defense. Walker has never been a strikeout guy and obsessing about a guy's strikeout rate being too low is stupid. As long as he's successful it shouldn't matter. A guy who should strikeout 6/K9 now has to try to strike extra guys out instead of getting quick outs, enticing contact early. Want to know why pitchers get hurt? Pitchers throw harder, strike guys out more, walk guys more. They're throwing more pitches per inning, harder, with more effort. There have been several great and above players that below average strikeout rates.

DJ won a batting title with the Yankees. In his first year with the Yankees, he hit .327 with 26 home runs and 102 RBIs. Despite his down year in 2024 due in part to a serious foot injury, he still maintains a healthy and respectable .290 batting average over 14 years. Couple his .364 average in 2020 and his .348 average in 2016 with the Rockies, LeMahieu is the only player in MLB history to win batting titles in each league. Add four gold gloves and two silver slugger awards and this guy has a better resume than many in Cooperstown. There was a reason why the Dodgers and everyone else wanted him. The Dodgers would have been happy to have landed DJ.

Corbin Burnes' rookie season was worse and he bounced back. Over 8 ERA in more innings.

DJ and Anderson have 3 batting titles between both of them and they both make this list…and as far as DJ the Yankees are still on the hook for the next 2 seasons. He can no longer hit major league pitching.

162 games in a year / 3 = 54 so therefore 50 games because 1/3 of a season minimum. Better measure would be plate appearances because a pinch hit, pinch run, or defensive sub would get you a "game played" but affect the results less. Whatever, it's not like methodology is critical in this anyway.
