Pro controllers are 100% necessary. If you’re playing any kind of game where you have to actively use the right stick, and the face buttons, pro controllers make it 10x easier. I’ve had one since 2018ish and it’s been borderline impossible to revert back to a normal controller. Btw the razer wolverine tournament edition controller is the best controller I’ve ever used.

The Elite Series 2 Core controller DOES NOT come with ANY back paddles or extra sticks or carrying case
@laughyourashevilleoff2546 Жыл бұрын
I think this is pretty spot on. I have both the Elite Series 2 and the DualSense Edge, and I think they both have their ups and downs. I think the triggers feel better on the Elite when they're in "click mode" and better on the Edge when used like a regular controller. The Elite also has 4 paddles instead of 2 and massively longer battery life. They both feel great in the hand. I do wish the Edge came in a color other than white. The rubber grips on the inside of the handles are already stained from me palm gravying all over the thing the last month or so.

so the rechargeable batteries in the Xbox pro controller are great, it feels much more sturdy, it has joystick tightening which is useful for when you swap games. And the ability to change the distance on the triggers is really useful for shooters. And the back paddles are a total game Changer. But this only really Applies if you play competitive shooters. But I understand that Austin isn’t really in that demographic….. and yes they are wayyy to expensive. also i wrote this before i finished the video.

I'm genuinely confused -- have neither you or the guys on here heard of rechargeable AA batteries? They're way easier: if your controller's flat, you just change the batteries.

14:59 “I think the edge feels better” in what way? If it’s exactly like a regular dual sense how would it feel better? Anyone who’s held an Elite Series 2 (forget the QC issues) would say it’s the most premium feeling controller, it’s heavy, smooth rubbery, metal, magnets everything the dual sense edge doesn’t have. Even snapping the sticks in place it’s just you pushing plastic and snapping It into more plastic. Unlike the elite that uses metal sticks at the base and magnets. I had the Edge for 6 days, and I couldn’t justify $200 on it. It just felt like a more expensive controller that comes with your PS5, lacked so many features and horrendous battery life. The one thing I admittedly still love is the haptics. Yes Elite Series 2 rumble sucks and it’s also poorly used in games.

While I've never tried the Pro version I have had several PowerA controllers and one thing I know for certain is that they do not last. The longest run I've ever had with one is about five months before either an analog stick or a trigger went funky.

I don't play FPS much, mainly third person and racing games. When I started gaming I mainly used the DualShock 4 with software, or a Logitech Game Pad because they could be either X input or direct input. When I first used an Xbox controller with my PC games, I never went back to those. I have had Xbox controllers for a while now and I recently had the Elite 2 customized through Design Labs. Then bought the new white Elite 2 (without addons) on Amazon because they had a sale for $115. I carry the custom one with me and leave the white one at home. After I got used to the paddles on the back, using the normal Xbox controllers was a problem because my fingers were naturally always looking for the rear paddles. Mapping buttons to the paddles so I can use the right thumb just for aiming and looking around helped a lot in third person games. At first I thought I was going to have issues coordinating 4 additional fingers to press buttons, but it took less than an hour to get used to it. Yes, it's a lot of money. I was looking at the Scuf ones for a while, but the fact that they're normal Xbox controllers with extra buttons and a paint job doesn't justify their price over the Elite Core (in my opinion). I have a PS4 that I barely use, so if the Dual Sense Edge was backwards compatible, I would definitely give it a try.

I was going to mention the Astro C40 controller but I forgot I originally got it when I had a PS4 and I have since switched to solely PC gaming and sold my PS5. The Astro C40 is a decent controller if you have big hands. I’ve had it for over 3 years and only had to replace one of the joysticks which I would call a win. It still works perfectly fine with PC games and PS4 games but ASTRO has come out and said that PlayStation is the one blocking any updates from coming out to support it on the PS5 so I assume the rest of these pro controllers included in this list were chosen based on being compatible with current gen consoles. While you can still use the Astro C40 controller with a PS5, you are limited to PS4 ported games only. PS5 games will not work with the controller. That being said, if you like a larger controller and having the access to swap the D-Pad and Joystick, or just the piece of mind that the modules can be replaced, the Astro C40 has been great for me. The replacement joysticks are only $20 and the app is easy to navigate. The texture and feel of the controller is slightly rubberized which has helped me with sweaty hands. The only issue I ever ran into was having to manually switch which driver my PC was using to recognize the controller a couple times. It looks like Astro has pulled the production of the controller from their site but you can pick a refurbished one up from them for $170 or you can pick one up for around $60-$120 on EBay based on recently sold ones. Astro was one of the first to introduce the swappable D-Pad and Joystick modules and it’s cool to see these other controllers coming out sporting the same concepts. It’s cool to think that even over the 4 years it’s been since the release, it seems like Astro had the hardware down pretty well considering controllers with similar functions are still comparable in size. That was the main thing that steered my friends away from the C40 but I have no issue with it since I usually either have my hands resting on my desk or in my lap when I’m playing and it’s still comfortable to hold. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment. I’ll continue holding onto my C40 and using it as my primary controller for the time being. Xbox Elite Series 2 is compelling but not at it’s current price.
@Justanotherinvisible Жыл бұрын

This is a great video that deff brings up how ridiculous the pricing is for a "pro" controller, but I disagree with the rumble feature. Many gamers, including myself, turn off rumble to prevent it from affecting my gameplay. That's why I would be okay with a lousy rumble if everything else is excellent. I'm surprised you guys never mentioned those back buttons clip-on adapters, IMHO, those things are perfect because you get the back buttons with any 1st party controller.

And the faceplate is swapable, it comes with 2 joysticks, one with a smooth top and both are taller than the ones on the controller, the paddles are programmable to any button on the controller, there’s adjustable hair triggers, and the paddles are removable. The “pro” version of it, the version I have, has a button on the bottom of the controller that mutes the headset when it’s plugged in, and the button can be pushed left or right to increase or decrease the headset volume.

Don't forget about stench gaming they do custom PS5 and Xbox Pro controllers. But it's crazy if you want all the bells and whistles with a cinch controller it's like just over $333. But the offer is you can customize all the colors of the controller in the buttons which I prefer the PS5 onen assets more customizable. I'm not sure if they're using the dual sense. But you can basically have it so that the d-pad are clickable buttons for instant response and same for the the Eldar buttons you can have clickable which especially if you're in like in a first-person shooter game the others had that little bit more of an edge cuz you're going to get the instant shot versus having to pull the triggers all the way in. Also to they make for the Xbox and for the PlayStation 5 controller they have four extra buttons you can get underneath which adds an upcharge the most to your order. It's like over 80 bucks. You can get it with 2 buttons if you want half the price. But the difference between the Xbox One vs the PS51 one is you can pay an extra $30 and be able to have the ones on the PS5 remappable to whatever buttons you want. But it's cool you can choose whatever color you want for the front, for the back, for the middle, for the touchpad, for the X, triangle, square, and circle they all have to be the same color where is the Xbox one you can choose individual colors. The analog sticks you can choose which color you want and which ring you want on the inside. You can choose the color of the d-pad. If you want to choose the colors for the analog sticks but you want them to be able to be adjusted for the height you can only get black ones which is an additional $20. Pretty much every add-on you do and adds on another few dollars another few dollars and if you basically add everything which you can also do laser engraving. Getting minus the laser engraving come out to just over $333 but they do have a 20% off code save you around $66.60. Some of those two for the backs of the Playstation or Xbox controllers you can look like it has splattered paint. I do know that some companies make modded controllers where you can like havit rapid-fire and different things like that but I think from quench Game of Thrones are probably the most expensive one I have seen.

Matt almost hammered home the reason why the Elite series of controllers should be S-Tier. The size and weight is a plus but the reason for that size and weight is because of the build quality. I have both Elite controllers and I've admittedly dropped them, thrown them, spilled things on them, and opened them and they still work fine. Not just that but they still look new! The shell is crazy durable and the metal sticks make them feel smooth still to this day. Another thing I love about the series 2 core.... When my series 1 eventually does die, all the parts will be compatible with the series 2 core so I'll basically have the full pkg for the reduced cost, rather than having to buy the whole thing again They also added Elite controllers to the design lab recently so Scuf has some competition in that dept.

The fact you missed the guikit zen pro that they now sell at target(it used to be online only.) is a shame. For 60 bucks you get a controller with hall effects sticks(no more stick drift) works wired and wireless, has a button to switch modes from switch,PC,android, and direct input, has amazing accuracy at full range of motion meaning no longer having to set your deadzone to 5 to 10 you can literally use 0 deadzone, has programmable buttons, and it probably has a few other features I'm forgetting. It's extremely comfortable and has a good weight and battery life and comes from a company that's been making replacement modules for other controllers to swap out to hall effect sticks for quite a while. Hopefully they get a chance to try them out and review them if they haven't because it's seriously the best controller I've used up till now, though I do admit I haven't used a dual sense.

Series 2 broke my heart, with minimal use the springs in the sticks lost so much tension and introduced alot of flop. On top of that the right bumper started playing up. All this with the core model, which was supposed to have refined new components according to Microsoft. I've reviewed the Elite S2, Wolverine V2 Chroma,Gambit,Fusion3,Raikiri and did a head to head Edge vs Elite, in my opinion Edge is an amazing controller with terrible triggers. I've put so much time on edge since getting it on launch, it's still like day one, the right stick only needs .02 deadzone in COD. For Xbox the gambit and fusion pro 3 are my picks, the Asus Raikiri is a really good controller but for the price, Gambit and Fusion 3 beat it. The Raikiri Pro looks like an amazing controller and I'm kicking myself now for buying the Raikiri and not going for the pro. Xbox also have Gamesir stuff, I've just reviewd the G7se with hall effect sticks, so when it comes to Xbox vs PS, sony kinda leveled the playing field with one expensive, amazing performing pro controller.

Those prices, wow, just wow.......... Cannot understand why they cost so much, could it be a case of companies assuming gamers have more money than sense?
