This has got to be the worst take on arkham knight ever.

Though I am no white knight defender of Under the Mayo, you are certainly not doing him justice with your critique of his video. You make it seem like he was out to hate this game to begin with, which clearly is not the case, especially as he says to have loved Arkham City despite not being a Batman fan. It is apparent he was going into the game with the hopes of liking it. Though there are points of his review that are certainly hyperbolic in nature, such as his complaints about all the “new” coloured enemy indicators being overwhelming when only one of those indicators wasn’t present in City (the environmental takedown) and how he doesn’t even play, at the very least, City of Fear till the very end, to experience a greater portion of the game, his review is not “stupid” for that. Games cannot please everyone, and this is coming from someone who actually did enjoy the game a lot, so I am actually in agreement with you, but you cannot fault somebody for not falling in line, even if some of their reasons are not very fleshed out. But it’s someone hyperbolic in nature to criticize somebody’s points when you yourself can’t formulate your own. It’s easy to basically tell somebody “you’re wrong” and “you must be stupid” to everything, but it doesn’t prove very much. Such example is shown when Under the Mayo said going from Batmobile to melee was like “getting whiplash” and that it felt like a different game and you replied with “it’s still the same game” then calling him “stupid”, where you don’t even dissect his point, but just say the opposite. He clearly knows it’s still the same game, you’re doing him no favours in that regard. He is saying that they aren’t cohesive and juxtapose, and feel so different mechanically that they might as well be different games, and while I personally disagree such as you do, at least I can analyze and formulate such a response that shows I know where he is coming from. Because yeah, the Batmobile and melee combat are very different, but I believe that the game throughout manages to mesh a flow between the two, whereas Under the Mayo doesn’t, and that’s fine with me. His video is by no means beneath criticism, I have watched it myself in full and have disagreed not only with his arguments, but how he goes about arguing them, but a critique such as yours requires an understanding and you simply don’t provide that here. It seems you’d much rather point, laugh, name call and say “that’s wrong” then to truly analyze the piece. I am by no means hating on you or saying your video is bad, but just like Under the Mayo, you are not beneath the criticism of others, but unlike yours, I hope this can be constructive while also being truthful and respectful.

the 'fault' only comes bearable when someone makes a video game review of utilizing criticism, to what he subjects for the focal point of his video as absolute, which the newly 'color-coded' textures are just nitpicky based off the sentiment, of what he applies towards the title of his video absolutely being... however, everything else from your comment is where I agree with you, but 'fault' doesn't mean that it's wrong nor are you right for pinpointing what subject at hand is, when someone tries to go against it.

Actually the best comment. No one has constructive arguments against him in order to combat his opinion about the game. Everyone and their mother has come out of their womb so that they can criticise him but everyone just mocks him not taking seriously what he says. Most of his arguments are valid like firelfly batcar catwoman etc. Plus a random youtuber makes a quote unquote review criticising the flaws of arkham knight. Why do you people care that much? I played this 2 times and this is really masterpiece. I even did enjoyed batmobile (actually i was surprised that people doesn't liked it. I agreed, that batmobile was been maybe too much, but i didn't noticed it and just enjoyed game.)

Mauler is a terrible reviewer so I don't believe that the review can be that bad, Mauler has tons of really awful takes and seems to struggle to even understand the films he watches. An 11 hour review of someone's opinion is pretty pathetic.

The Batwing dropping equipment has been a thing since Asylum. Batman I fighting a war and his normal suit isn't going to cut it. These games are more tame than the comics.

The video was just generally very rushed, and poorly constructed. A nine minute review like this was never gonna do a game like Arkham Knight justice. His mentality on gaming as a whole is just sad. It truly seems like he despises every single game he plays, except for Doom Eternal. He tries his absolute hardest to get angry and not have fun. When he tried ultrakill, he painfully brute forced his way through the game using only the revolver you start with, all to prove some point I guess. No game is above criticism, but all games are above bad criticism.

I've been playing the series and have just beat Orgins and am about to relish in how amazing the game is. People not just him love to complain about the car but thing is people asked for it and naturally it would get more priority. You know since it's the new addition. In fact Orgins gets criticism for just being Arkham City and not doing much different. Knight solved this issue with the car but everyone just hates it on principle or something. Arkham Knight objectively has the best combat in the series it's literally City's with more aplomb. The suit up complaint is so unbelievably stupid my brain cannot even comprehend it. How dare a Batman game showcase a new suit. How dare Batman send for something that can help him save the cop. How dare the game explain the new mechanics it brings and give you a tutorial? I know perish the thought. Non Batman fans can enjoy these games something he says regarding City so its even weirder how Knight doing the same thing is now suddenly bad. His reviews just feel like him going through emotions and actively going out of his way to bitch and he knows what he's doing. He constantly says that what he's about to say will upset people so he is aware of what he's doing but he just got to mayo.

Arkham Knight is typically seen as the worst Arkham game, but pretty much everyone agrees that it's combat is far superior to every previous installment of the series. This is because it removed a bunch of random movements, like Batman just missing hits periodically and failing to hit the enemy on the ground right next to him. The addition of way more gadgets and more special combo moves makes it way more specialised and cooler and way better to play Also in regard to his comment about the fear takedown, 1) it costs a ridiculous amount of upgrade points to lvl it up to the point where you can wipe half the room out. 2) you need to fully complete a silent takedown in order to replenish it 3) using it on a group removes xp bonuses like being unseen, and 4) enemies tend to spread out so you can use it to destroy the max of 5 people at once that often.

No it isn't? Arkham Asylum is, knight is generally first or second and in no way is city actually better, nostalgia just makes people like it more. I was talking about how you said knight is the most hated, it is not. None of them are hated, there is just the least loved one, asylum.

@@MahNamJeff I've played city over 30 times, I can tell you I never enjoyed the story. They sidelined strange for stupid joker and the only good thing about the story is the end where joker died, which doesn't make the rest of the story good. Origins is just far more interesting. People also treat city like it's story is a masterpiece. None of the games have masterpiece stories, so don't pretend like it's a strength of city.

I just started playing Arkham Asylum after only having played Arkham Knight and tbh I like Knight much more. The dialogue is a lot more natural, Asylum had very Marvel like quippy dialogue which I don’t think fits Batman. Knight handles this much better, he isn’t talkative, he isn’t constantly saying one liners. The combat also feels a lot more versatile, probably because it is just an expanded version of Asylum and City’s combat.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. I previously didn't care about who Under The Mayo was and didn't pay attention to his channel. However he really got on my nerves after this since the Arkham series are some of my favorite video games ever and I'm happy so many people have called him out since it tells me not to listen to anything he says.

People don't seem to get that this video is NOT a review. I love Arkham Knight and it means a lot to me and I disagree with a lot of what Mayo says in the video, but he's not wrong either. People told him to play the game, he did, and this video is his opinion on it. He's not reviewing the game, he's just expressing his feelings about it which is completely valid. Mayo knows how to make a review when he wants to, take his RE Village video for example. He hits the nail right on the head.
