Having watched the film 11 times, actually 11.25 times as of today, I find another layer of confusion and disbelief each time. Almost as if by design. Its a gift to the world.

It's so bad. The writing is terrible. Acting is abysmal. The way they tried to experiment with cuts and rotating transitions is dizzying. And the amount of out-of-sync ADR is egregious! I loved every minute of it. I want to see it again. I nearly fell off my seat laughing in the theatre multiple times.

I think there was potentially a mediocre movie here, but studio interference and massive editing is what ruined it. Oh, and the director being a real piece of work. The bad editing, studio meddling, and inconsistent plotholes are what drags this movie down from a 4 out of 10 to a 2 out of 10. If I were to rewrite this movie, I'd have the first act remain the same except its set in the present and doesn't involve Ben Parker. Cassie first meet the girls at the diner and saves them from Spider-Ezekiel there, then have her and the girls go to the police and have Ezekiel attack them there and realize not even the police can stop him. Then Cassie would get a vision telling her to go home and loo at her mother's book, and she and the girls go there and Cassie is able to figure out previously vague information to find out that Spider-Ezekiel is the same guy who was with her mother when she died and to find out who Santiago is. Cassie then tracks down Santiago online and contacts him so he can fill in the blanks about the spiders and their abilities, leading Cassie to have a vision telling her she needs to break into Ezekiel's home with the girls to find the spiders, leading to the three girls getting powers from the spiders. That's then their superhero origin story right there. Spider-Ezekiel then finds them and the same fight from his dream happens, but without the suits and tech. Although he's more skilled than them, Cassie has her abilities to help the girls overcome the experience gap, leading to Spider-Ezekiel being kicked out a window, finally putting a stop to him, once and for all.

I hated the blq character but honestly all 3 younger spider girls were totally unnecessary to the movie. The movie would've been better WITHOUT the 3 girls

Ya see I think there's some enjoyment to be had from those in just pure cringe and wow how are they so bad. This is just bad mixed with charisma vacuums and nothing burgers

@@burgunbeerd I get that, but they're still bad, and I don't believe most reviews are framed that way. People can like whatever they want, but on a critical, as close to objective way of measuring the qualities of a film (writing, directing, etc...), there is just no possible way Madame Web is worse than the majority of superhero movies made through the 80's up to the 2010's.
