To be fair, The Netherlands never built a tank. We bought two Renault FT-17s and sank one when testing our inundation lines. The conclusion was that tanks couldn't cross it, which actually turned out to be true for most part.

That garrison light tank at the start, can be made cheaper, as in below 2, and with how supression works, together with MP and topped out division with these, you got meta garrisons.

Support equipment for military police company(4*10) is cheaper then a light tank battalion(2,25*60) hence the meta is to keep a single tank battalion, but add support police to it. However it's wildly inefficient on production as you would need a lot of support equipment factories. Meanwhile maxed out with light tank battalion division would have a very small percentage of support equipment(40 IC) compared to tanks (135*25 IC). Stats otherwise would be exact same, however big one would be fine with captured or bought support equipment. So it's a choice between cheap meta garrison and efficient(from PoV of player's time) meta garrison.

@@FairyRat no, they didn't. However 20%(before upgrades) is still 20%(before upgrades). It would be the same number regardless if you get it for 25 divisions of a single battalion or for full 25 battalion division. The only thing that will change is the ratio of equipment used. Support equipment is cheaper then garrison tanks so single battalion light tank with MP support is the meta.

For garrison only 3 stats matter - construction cost, manpower and hardness. Best garrison template is just one cheapest light tank, that's all. You don't need trucks and infantry in it as they lower hardness and lead to higher manpower requirements and losses. After this you can play a bit with adding MP support and testing if it's better to keep it with one battalion or by expanding the division to full stack of light tank battalions. One is cheaper, another more efficient on you production lines.

Fun fact: because Germany AI is the only AI in the game to put AA into standard infantry templates and it gets acccess to T2 AA guns that have 60 penetration around 39, you would need heavy tanks of armor stats upwards of 160 in your space marine divs to not get penned, which you need like T3 armor and advanced heavy techs to reach. Otherwise, it’s just a 10 percent damage reduction buff for obscene amounts of IC. Honestly at that point IMO it’s just not worth it, better to make more infantry divs

1:36 There's no problem with doing tank only garrisons. You just need to use the correct type of tank - namely, an interwar light tank with one man turret, heavy machine gun, bogie suspension, riveted armor, diesel engine, 0 engine, and 0 armor. Once you can, upgrade with an easy maintenance. Almost as cheap as horses, but with 80% hardens making losses from resistance almost non-existent. Honestly, those tankettes + MP make for the best garrison template there is.

Germany breaking free event fires on you being at peace and not being in a faction so they come to you for create a faction with you (breaking free along the way). So basically if you joined like Comintern you'd have no problem for worrying them at all.

I believe FeedbackGaming tested it and full light tank stack + MP company made for the best garrison div. Full stack makes MP's support equipment usage to absolute minimum, because the whole division dynamically scales to the needs of a garrison, and MP company just buffs the division's suppression stat by a certain % no matter the size. Light tank specifically because it can be made cheaper than Armored Car and has the same suppression and roughly the same hardness.

Let's be honest. We (the Dutch) were to most double fucked by the axis during the war. Imagine being invaded by both Germany and Japan in one single war. Especially since Germany just had one huge open border to us and Japan had been one of our closest trading allies for centuries before that. Small piece of advice, as long as you remain in a faction like for example being on the allies or the Cominterm, then Germany can´t create the Central Powers and as such they will continue being your puppet for all eternity until you leave the faction.
