Dots need to be sized and spaced in a certain flow and area of the body for everything to flow and be solid. I bet you could get crazy and experimental with some polka dot patterns in a small sleeve like area maybe on the leg or something.

That dotty eye one looks OK because it is fresh. It is never going to stay that defined or high contrast for very long. I think that a healed pic would not hold up. Artists should be able to design for the future.

The tattoos you spoke about at 2:46 have actually grown on me. They're really popular in my city (Montreal) and I know a TON of artists that do them. I like that they tend to work really well with the client's anatomy, and i think since they're so fine and light, they'd be easier to cover up (or laser off if that's what they wanted.) I also do like a scifi cyberpunk vibe. Not really my style, but I don't hate them. It just seems super trendy to me (and i don't really like filigree anyway,) but I have hope that it'll iterate further and improve

I’ll say I follow the artist that did the hand w the dots and i absolutely love love their art, as art. However I am mostly super skeptical about how it would heal and age, but nonetheless I’m more of a fan of the art itself and not its execution as a tattoo.

eyes-with-dots tatt: I fear the eyes will not be identifiable as eyes after a while, and they make the tatt work. Once they lose their definition, its just a dirty mess, like most of this style.
