I have learned more about the intricacies of amps in the last dozen videos than I ever knew ! On this amp, I am surprised it hasnt burst into flames and set fire to the vehicle it was running in !
@stevenorcutt39132 жыл бұрын
You're work speaks for itself absolutely fantastic. I have seen some mucked up amps have even had a few that I gave away. I do believe though that the last ts 350 I gave away was a thousand times worse that hot plate was. But you did make it look better than new.
@bereangirl71182 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr. BBI , Did this repair cost more than the amp bought new?. I could see the cost of parts but the effort that you put in and the labor involved with this one was probably mucho $$$$ !. You went well above and beyond a fantastic repair sir. Well done and a great video. Thank you"...

No I don't think so I think the whole repair was only like 3 or 400 bucks

excellent work sir. i all too often end up un-f*cking things in a diff line of work behind young dumb lazy techs myself. hvac. the sh*t you see as repair work from other people is at times just incredibly bad. just gotta do what you know is right when the poo sammich lands on your lap.
@Rev22-212 жыл бұрын
Been there myself in HVACR. Wait until you grab the copper line set and blows you backwards w/240vac on it. But wait...there's more, another evaporated roof top cooler with the pump laying water...still running. Or....when begging an apartment manager to NEVER ALLOW THEIR MAINTENANCE MAN to work on their central AC units....then finding they did connecting high voltage to the 24 vac thermostat. Just another day at the office they say. Thanks for the fond memories. 😀

This takes me back to the early 70's when I was working my way through EE at the U WIs by fixing TVs and electronics at a local shop. That became fixing whatever was put in front of me once the word got out I could actually fix stuff. The worst were: 1. A Heathkit color TV kit "assembled and debugged" by a doctor. Much the same of what I saw here. Pure shit. I also think he may have been color blind... 2. A Heathkit SB-200 amp also built by a surgeon. Being able to stitch wounds is NOT the same as being able to solder.... Like you, in both instances, I thought of just throwing my hands up, but accepted the challenge and persevered and won. I then went into computers which were much safer. Not as much to kill you.... Thanks for the walk down memory lane and the inspiration!

I'm amazed. I would have pulled my beard out since I have no hair. I've never seen a mess such as that. Good grief. I wish I could afford you because I have a little 4 pill that would do a 1000 watts all day. My technician worked on it and it's 400 short now. Anyway dude great job. I have a Dave made 2 pushing 8 that works great although Mr Dave did something when he made it for me and it blew all the pills soon as I got it. He admitted he made a mistake but would not stand NY his work so I don't do business with him anymore.

New subscriber and impressed viewer. With 35+years under my belt in electronics I appreciate your candor, determination and professionalism. Me, I learned early on that the guy who preceded me might be the owner themselves...or some poor slob who was under duress or drunk trying to make a cheap/quick buck.... Notwithstanding, about the only thing I would have done differently (besides Schitt canning this from the get-go) would have been changing out that transistor (or transistor pair if they had to be matched). But.....like my late dad use to say " son you have the most unorthodox way of doing things, but who can argue with success?" Congrats on this beautiful repair and restoration....look forward to more upcoming. (UNRELATED: If you haven't as yet...checkout Shango066 channel. He's more of a resurrection rather than restorer...but a darn good one nonetheless.)

Suggestion: When changing camera angle or distance, *pause* the recording, wait for the camera to focus, then resume recording. Or better still, get a camera with manual focus so it doesn't keep going out of focus when the position hasn't changed. Auto-focus is a PITA - so many videos would be vastly better if it had never been invented.
