Seaford marathon in the South Downs . Very misty day and very low visibility. Followed the runners ahead of me up the very steep first climb. After 30 minutes of running we ended up back at the start !! 😂 About 35 of us had got lost in the mist !!! I got in the car and drove home and binned the day 😂

😂that’s hilarious. Reminds me of a 4 mile mountain race loads of runners got lost during (including myself). Everyone eventually made it to the finish line and we all were wearing GPS trackers and got a laugh when they overlaid all the tracks afterwards, all over the place. One guy ran a 4mile accidental detour

Marathon in 30 minutes! No human is limited, indeed!

@@AckerQ.sadly we had turned right instead of left on the downs so ended having run about 3.5 miles without getting anywhere😂

@@michaelbennett6778, you were so fast that you bent the time-space continuum! I’d stick with this option :))

Duuude! That incident, brushing thighs with some poor dude who is shitting liquid at speed, splashing and all, him panicking and pulling up his daks "mid flow"... wow! Speechless! OMFG... and also amazing!!! 😂😅😂 Loved it!

A workmates sister was being supported by her family and ran up to a relatives child holding a sign with her name on near the finish line, she then threw up over the childs head.

The worst experience was Edinburgh marathon big race ,so in pens took half hour to just get to the start and it was cold and raining hard so before you even set off you where damp and cold then at end had to catch bus back into Edinburgh then walk a mile or more to catch a tram not for me did it as a one off prefer smaller races no waiting about etc
@runwithstevetodayКүн бұрын
That sounds miserable. One of the reason I prefer trail races, very little standing around. You can get to the start line 15min before.

My first ever 5k a few years ago (in public) hit a dog turd with my heel and did the splits like an olympic gymnast…. Only I cant do the splits in real life 🥵

Oh whoops, best you were feeling that for a few days afterwards. Maybe smelling it too 😬

@ 🤣 all good! It was one of those split second ‘Miranda’ moments where I made a complete arse out of myself, styled it out with a laugh of hilarity and a hair swoosh like the giant buffoon I am, and the only hurt would have been my pride only I fear at my age thats long gone 🙏🏻

You should do the Spartan Race in flathead lake Montana, definitely bucket list material there

I’ve never actually done an obstacle or mud race before.

@runwithstevetoday one of your hiking videos was a mud obstacle race lol

My first thought at the title was that it was going to involve explosive squits 🫣 at least they weren’t yours! Poor guy! My answer to everything is ginger beer and Aldi coconut water 😋 Fizzy ginger and a good burp for the 🤢 And coconut for the dehydrated and flu ridden 👌 A few years ago I started half filling a bottle of juice in the freezer and taking it out a little while, adding some more juice and shaking it into a slushy, into insulated flask and you have a litre of slushy for the next 6-10 hours. Nothing better halfway up a summer mountain for heat flakes like me that melt past 18 degrees 😅 Sadly no good race stories from me though have friends that have had had the sudden urgencies at the worst parts of a race…

Good tips! Although I’ve mixed feelings about coconut water, sometimes it has lumps
@Trundlebugg2 күн бұрын
@ ahh yes I’m not a fan of that either, the Aldi bit is specific as it half the price of most at £1.99 and tastes better than the fancy smoothy brand types haha

You were cold by 5°c while running? I am drench in sweat at 5°c jogging a 5k.

Those trees over the road 😮 I’d be worried to go under 😅 well this was ehm…disgusting 😂 but it is I guess as well something people don’t talk about and they all are so possible to happen haha my only badish experience so far was that I feel sick past few km from gel I took in the race station while doing half marathon…but I did manage not to vomit a finished it, last kilometres though were about trying to keep it down…I guess if continuing with this it’s inevitable something worse might happen.
