While I agree with you Saph, the time to make an adjustment to Wixwell has passed. To restrict the shield growth now, after the fusion and after the teams came out, it would be so detrimental to the community. Especially after the refusal to nerf previous overpowered champions. Plarium has dug a really deep hole here and it’s 100% their own making.

He definitely doesn't deserve the hate, it's a logical point to bring up - but they should really focus on fixing/nerfing the PvP game-breaking champs like Trunda and Yumeko before even considering a nerf to a champion that helps with content that's already been mastered for years by this point.

Using your words, the fundemantal crux of the Saphyrra problem is that after you started working on your own game with HH, now you can't resist to tell Plarium how to design theirs. And that is a problem, because you are clearly out of tune with your audience. There is nothing "boring" with Wixwell, making comps to max out certain parts of the game is the fun part for most people - then they move on to one of the other game modes, which there are plenty of. We all know Clan Boos is one the most important aspects, and it's such a game changer for early accounts to be able to get top chests. Keep in mind, it's absolutely not a PVP content - in other words, why the hell would you mind more people getting good chests from clan boss? After seeing this video, if there was a reverse Patreon where I could pay a certain sum, and the same amount gets reduced from your salary, I would absolutely do it. Enjoy ruining the game for us, I can only hope you don't succeed. Also, I wonder if there is any chance of you reading the comments on this video and doing some self-reflection?

Unkillable was already breaking the game and can be considered a cheese strategy. Wixwell is the 1 key Ultra Nightmare champ for people that have not been lucky to get an unkillable team like me. I am very happy with the way Wixwell is right now.

I strongly disagree with this end game whale perspective. This just hurts newer FTP players like myself. I had a killable 2-key UNM before Wixwell. If his shield growth was based on his DEF with my level of account and gear the CB would absolutely destroy the shields long before round 50 and I'd still have a 2-key. Please don't suggest ruining this for players who haven't been lucky enough to pull a Demytha/etc yet. Complaining about "bad game design" when you've got an unkillable team that hits for 200+ mil based on already existing crazy stat bloat...makes no sense to me.

Wixwell can help more players to reach 1key ultra cb, and that's good . I don't think he break the game. My old team cb 130 milion, now with wixwell 180 milion (michinachi, wixwell, oella, padraig, anchorite). The problem is hydra clash.

I usually love these vids and the math breakdown, why something is broken and your take on how to fix it, but this one feels like one that perhaps should not have been made yet Saph. Balance is fine when EVERYTHING is balanced. Trunda is not balanced, Yumiko resetting her copies is not balanced. Wixwell has balanced the game for so many people who can now 1 key UNM CB and this vid could possibly screw that all up for them. Hydra teams with Wixwell will still never reach Trunda levels so really no need here. I can 1 key without Wixwell, but for all those lower down still progressing who couldn't before, he is a godsend. Sometimes, staying quite when Whales and Krakens have the luxury of unbalanced champs and an unfair advantage over whole clans in what is competitive should be a fundamental thought in your mind. Who will this hurt the most, and should I make this known until other bigger issues are dealt with? Is the gap between the have's and have nots going to change because Wixwell can potentially help 1mil+ people 1 key UNM CB who couldn't before. The answer is a definite no imo, there is no competition here, and the resources for fusions would be a massive boost for many who could barely do 1 every 2/3/4 months, and I fear you may have caused a lot of people a lot of harm with this. I understand that you are only being consistent, but occasionally, you have to balance the "I'll do this for every champ I come across" with what potentially could be the greater harm to the wider community by doing so if the champ is giving an advantage in something that does not matter to the overall game where there is no competitive edge to it. That's where some of that big brain thinking of your should also go too when deciding whether to make a vid or not imo. The investment has been made by so many already, and many more are working towards a dream scenario for them, with great hopes and expectations of being able to finally do fusions consistently. I really hope Wixwell gets left well alone, or in the fairness of balance, Trunda et al also get "fixed" too, or there could be hell to pay for you and Paylarium on this one from an enraged community. I personally would have waited until Trunda, Yumiko and others' who are further up the pecking order to be fixed were dealt with first, and if they never are then just let this one slide, let the little people have something just for once in an area of the game that will only benefit f2p and Kraken alike.

Any champion that can nullify content has to be adjusted for the health of the game. It's why the clan boss ignores Unkillable and Block Damage after turn 50, and why you can't put enfeeble on bosses anymore. Wixwell can't be an exception to that. Nor can Trunda, who also needs to be adjusted.

"Nulify content" and proper strategy are 2 different things. Enfeeble as a stand alone nullified bosses ability to do mechanics. Wixwell isn't a 1 man party the defaults you into a victory setting. I said, until higher priority champs that break the game like Trunda, who is a part of a competitive team comp (Hydra Clash) and Yumiko too, that this vid should have been shelved until they are "rebalanced" "fixed" "nerfed" or whatever term chosen and Wixwell left for the multitudes to enjoy until such time they are. When they are, do Wixwell too. Until then, leave him alone as the benefit is in resources that help enable doing fusions and booking champs, a few brews, gems and the occasional piece of equipment that can be got daily by doing CB anyway. HC rewards are far more significant, and only a very few of the top 1% have Trunda teams, and it only takes one to annihilate a whole 30 person clan for far more exclusive rewards. Potentially millions of people have Wixwell but all those will be hurt by this and the 1% of the top 1% are left with Trunda, Yumiko et al. If Paylarium "fix" Wixwell and not them, then that is a travesty, and one that Saph would have blood on hands for by bringing this front and centre with this vid. It's a matter of think before you act was all I was saying very clearly. Question... Do you have Wixwell, or was you one of the haters that skipped the fusion? It would be interesting to know, as I've not heard one person who has Wixwell asking for him to be fixed yet. You'd be the first for sure.

Why should Wixwell be nerfed if you need a huge amount of your time spent in the only PVE part of the game that is considered toxic, aka, Hydra clash. I can make an infinity shield team for Hydra with Yannica, but im not willing to put that much time in it. I did it 3 times with Cadaver. 1.5 hours for what? Nah. If someone wants to, go ahead. Of course, you are right. The shield becomes very large on the Clan Boss. However, not everyone could get this hero from the event. It was necessary to be at least a mid-level player. And if you are a free-to-play player, it is even more difficult to achieve. Secondly, the damage is not that significant because you need to have two support heroes to extend buff durations. I'm not sure if I understand this perspective. A champion needs to be nerfed because they are too strong for PvE content? What about Lady Annabelle for Bonmal or Gnut for FK? I think the only real problem is hydra clash numbers, which I think is an issue not exclusive to Wixwell, which requires a global fix instead of a local one. We already have Brogni for linear shield growth. The exponential shield growth is what makes Wixwell unique.

Because exponential growth is poor design and cannot be controlled. When your shield growth is 100% stronger than any damage you receive it nullifies the content you face. It also makes his initial usages really poor so outside of the few cases he is rather weak from that perspective.

@@HHGamingNetwork I think the point about exponential growth is fair, but I don't think that it's a mechanic that shouldn't exist. Turnmeter control can make enemies never take a turn, which is one of the few viable ways to beat Scarab King or Fyro. This mechanic is extremely broken if it is applicable to all areas of the game, but many bosses have abilities that counter it. I think exponential shields is similar. It should be a viable strategy for some parts of the game while being kept it in check by making it less optimal in others.

Its a good comparison - in Original Doom Tower release they didnt have the Turn Meter cap - they introduced it when people just permanently kept the turn meter down. Its the same vein of thinking here - if you're ignoring vast aspects of the boss design then you really need to change something or the encounter/challenge is as good as "here's your free daily chest reward"

This exactly because th shield growth is % based that this guy is good and relevant (but only for long fights). So why would you want to undo what makes him good and playable ? Even in Hydra you need to a have a very synergic and well built team to use this at your advantage and still you will surely 3% loose your shield to mischief Head. The Yannica comp is boring to play and will never come close to Trunda's in terme of DMG/perf so no pb here. Iron clad might need to be changed but not wixwell

A long-term fight shield champ makes sense as a challenge because you have manage to extend that single shield, you have to build strong enough teams to not lose the shield early on, you have to manage to have a good number of buffs on all of your champs so that shield grows on everyone and grows evenly. Yes, this is simple for end game. But for early and mid game it can be a challenge. It's not broken, it's a unique champ providing a unique benefit.

Now, he has graduated from calling out "bugs" to complaining about champs working as designed, but has now labeled it "bad game design." I'm just tired of CC's telling us "Oh this champ is gonna be OP, you have to do this fusion," and as soon as you invest all your resources for the fusion, they start this "Oh, this champ is too OP, Raid has to nerf or 'fix' him!!!" Plarium if you're watching this it's all ok with Wixwell. First of all, less then 1% of people will ever use this combo for multiple reasons (lack of time, patience or they already have more reliable teams). I can testify that as relatively big cluster leader and didn't see anyone use this. Conclusion, no need to nerf it because there's a cap on damage unlike (somewhat) Trunda team.

Nah, there is no fix. That is a shitshow. The game is broken, and if is fixed, the community ill be broken beyond repair. The amount of resources (and money) people already invested in him on fusion, path and team building is astronomical. The only solution is to keep the game broken for at least a year, announce some roadmap with game mechanics rebalance in the end of 2025 to be made in 2026, and only change way later, when people would not fell totally fucked by Plarium

9 months into the game, I just got Visix. Wixwell was the 1st fusion i decided to go for. I'll just quit and go back to Pogo if they nerf him after i used everything i had saved to get him. Plarium is somehow worse than Niantic and i didnt think it possible.

Its content like this video that makes companies like Kabaam and Plarium change champs, "when the big dogs cry". These videos are unhealthy for the community. All the content creators spend weeks hyping them up, then cry when the younger players get someone that's on their level. We shouldn't all need a 4 year account to 1 key clan boss or take out hydra. It took me countless hours to figure out how to set my team up, not to mention MONEY to book everyone on this team because i didnt want to wait for books naturally. Shouldnt be punished because the CC's think hes broken.

From my short time 3-4months playing this game, there’s not many places in the game where infinite shields is even possible. Only can boss and hydra from what I’ve gathered. The average player isn’t spending hours on trying to figure out how to max shields at all times. This was the skills voted on and APPROVED by plarium. If they change him. there’s 50 more champs that need to be changed. In that case I’ll take a Tundra and an even swap for my wixwell. Then you’ll have the same problem. “She hits to hard” boo hoo.

TL : DR He's suggesting an insanely harsh nerf, taking the shield growth from exponential to lineair. He's acting like the shield can still grow huge with a fixed growth value. He shows a table of the shield still getting to 6-7 figures, where he asumes champs take 0 damage. At 12:00 you see him call it a "Healthy shield" where he asumes you get wixwells A2 off 50 times without taking any damage.

@@HHGamingNetwork They could do that, but then they would have to scale it of the value of the original shield placed. Example 5 buffs = 50% of 30K shield, so +15K. It wouldn't use the same multiplier, so it's not exponential. However as a trade-off, if the shield was damaged, the increase would still have to be based off the original value of the shield. People will likely already be mad about it not being exponential anymore. There also can't be any of this "based off defence" stuff. That's just not what the skill says at all. The A3 says that, but the A2 only mentions the amount of buffs. If you want to scale it on a fixed number, it can't be defence, because that's not what was advertised. Keep in mind people are comparing this A2 skill to Krisks A2 skill. They're similar, but Krisks is better. The main thing Wixwell has is the exponential growth. If you take that away, the fixed shield growth has to be very significant.

For those not watching the video, You will still be able to 1-key UNM. And probably with less dependency on reflex gear and 2 additional extenders. Meaning you can do more than 500m with Geomancer/Brogni + 1 more dps. You will also be able to use him more effectively in DT or Cursed City. Possibly in arena, although I doubt it. What you won't be able to do is hit hydra heads for 322m per head with Yannica. Or use Acelin/Ironclad, etc. For that you'll have to whale out until you pull double Yumeko and +4 Trunda. Then you'll have Saph's blessing to exploit game mechanics. But ask yourself, "isn't it more fun that way?"

In an ideal world Plarium would have realized you don't make an exponentially growing mechanic as it breaks things. Wixwell has allowed free to play accounts, and low spend accounts, to take on nightmare and ultra nightmare clan boss. Personally, I would have no hope of even two keying the clan boss without him. End game players might not need him, and late game players might have other options, but please don't try to take him away from those that need him for clan boss. Just cap abilities that strip shields to 10% energy max hp, like other abilities. I have always enjoyed your videos, and have watched a significant amount of them, but for me, this feels very anti free to play, mid game, and low spender players. It would also mean a lot of the aforementioned players burned a lot of resources, just to lose what makes return on investment worth it. Please, leave Wixwell as he is.

I've spent 8 hours trying and fiddling. Your 4 "randoms" team did not work for me and it wasn't affinity friendly for HellHades either, to begin with. Even if you somehow magically manage to synergise with Yannica, you're still capped at 300mil DMG. How long can one sustain that fight, and what rewards does it get you? The rewards are crap anyway...or nonexistent every single week. So whom are you pushing this nerf for?

Instead you have to find or farm for two other specific champs that allow him to be able to grow the shields, and then you have to set it all up so that they take the turns in the correct order. It takes a good bit of gear, time, and effort. plus all the work it took to complete the fusion on its own. If anything they should nerf the rare champs that make it work. increase valerie or hellborn sprite to a 4 turn cd instead of 3. They shouldnt nerf wixwell when champs like trunda or armanz are still running around untouched.

Not gonna lie, this is a terrible idea. You talked briefly at the start about how useless they made Emic’s shield growth and now you’re advocating they do the same here because if 10k cap growth on an A1 is useless then a max of like 15k growth on a 3 turn cool down is beyond useless. That combined with the balance assumption of taking no damage and what you suggest will kill any use this champ may have had stone dead. Yes they need to fix the damage stuff from abusing shields for PVP modes like clash but then again, do they? They don’t seem to give a shit about Trunda after all who is far more problematic for this area of the game so boohoo your avg player can do a few billion damage. In summary what youre suggesting won’t fix Clash at all and will remove the CB utility (which is to say unlocking UNM for people) this champ had. I get what Saph is saying. The maths makes sense and yes the numbers do seem a little ludicrous. However, as soon as he said 6k DEF was a reasonable value to use for the fix, it told me that this is more of an issue for late/end-game players. Wixwell was a community champ. When we saw the skills they asked us to vote for, I think we could all see this was going to be the result. "balance" him by all means, but he should remain an "all players champion" even if that means he'll be OP for the end game.

I struggle to take this video seriously in general. We already have many varieties of unkillable teams in the game, especially for Demon Lord. If the reason for swinging a nerf bat at him is because the bosses can't possibly break the shield. Lets at least swing the bat at every unkillable team that also makes the Demon Lord a relatively pointless exercise. Why punish newer players that just got Wixwell because they currently don't have the champions to make one of the more elderly unkillable teams made possible by past fusions? Why do older fusions get preferential treatment when it comes to breaking the game? I understand the point of the shield problem, but it seems overall disingenuous to simply target Wixwell for this when there are many unkillable comps out there already. It seems like a lazy take. A better option would be to kill off all unkillable teams in the demon lord and force everyone into non-unkillable comps, if we are deciding that the demon lord is still legitimate content, where being unkillable is a problem.

Because you still need gear to make those unkillables work. Some require quite alot of speed gear. Simply putting wixwell in any 2:1 team will make the clan boss features pointless. You dont ever have to worry about stun because of his Intercept buff you permanently extend to avoid any mechanics. So yes - early unkillable are super powerful but they are not as easy to build as this team.

Sorry but I completely disagree with the fact that there is anything that need fixing! Yes, it is extremely strong and a bad game design, but it doesn’t break any game mode that isn’t already broken! It isn’t like if Wixwell was the first champion to unlock UNM CB easily. If they want to balance the game they should first nerf the champions that ruin Hydra clash (Trunda, Yumeko…) or arenas (Armanz, Taras…) before champions that unlock pure PVE content (CB) or can potentially nearly allow other team than Trunda one to matter in Hydra clash.

I'd be far happier with a fix that capped shield size rather than making the growth fixed. The shield growth being proportional was the interesting/exciting part of the skill from the very start of voting for the fusion. The growth increasing over time isn't a bug, it's doing exactly what they said it would. Capping potential shield size is a better change as it's a balance pass across the entire game, not specifically nerfing a champ from a foreseeable effect.

What I really don’t understand with this videos and people saying he should be nerfed is that why do people think cb becomes pointless because of wixwell when it was always pointless as long as u got maneater or Dymtha or Brogni or helicath like they aren’t really looking to do anything with cb it’s just a nice way for normal players to earn sacred shards. Wixwell help normal players earn those sacred shards early on when they mainly need it. Having Wixwell mainly viable for cb isn’t terrible because he does soo much work in cb. I am just using Wixwell in my brutal hydra teams and your suggested changes would actually empower my wixwell. However, to do anything to Wixwell now may be a bad call on their part. Many newish playes have burned alot of resources just to get him as it opens up UNM CB for them. Others have just spent the equivalent of 20 sacreds just to get his 5 star awakening. Any nerf at this stage would face major backlash. This is not the same as Emic whose change was made as the fusion went live, this is not the same as a possible change to Trunda who has needed their A2 changing for months this is something different.

How does wixwell differ from Brogni in terms of shield growth? Not their mechanics, just how their shield growths work?

Brogni = Grows based on 30% of his A2 damage = its a fixed amount each time in the sense that if i deal 100k each time then its 30k addition each time. Wixwell = Grows based on 3% per buff on target based on the Shield value = Its a dynamic amount meaning that if the shield is 100k or 1mil or 10mil then its going add significantly more as the shield grows (exponential).

I think if this had changed before Wixwell dropped onto the Live servers this would have been fine, but it's in the game and it's been put in as it is and they had a event which had a LOT of resource requirement to get the soul for him. I think in general that it realistically is balanced as there are already caps in the game as you mentioned; the integer limit of 2.1b creates this situation to where it will never actually be best in slot for things. I think you also may forget that a big thing with these Hydra and Yannica teams are that they ALL NEED an Emic, and then someone to lower emics Taunt cooldown so that you never get devoured as if you get devoured by any of the Hydra heads this becomes impossible to scale in Hydra (So there are technically mechanics around this in fights as well. I understand from the math perspective that exponential growth isn't a "healthy" mechanic in general, but this also means that Wixwell is VERY UNIQUE in the fact that you can do low-damage slower fights without mechanics to interupt your buff extensions to create some really cool and interesting teams! (At least that's my perspective). Love the insight and I also am happy to know the 3% * # of buffs as I hadn't found that info anywhere and it's cool to see!

Honestly - the yannica team is a nothing burger in Hydra imo. I can easily beat it with a standard team. If his current strategies are nerfed and no longer work then, for example, a new player that did Wixwell as a first fusion will be put back to the point where rerolling their account might not be a bad idea. @@JGmann Nothing that I said relied on knowledge of Wixwell pre-fusion, resource usage around a champion does not stop after just obtaining it. Also, I'm pretty sure when this CB team was found you could still get the fusion because of the Epic from Summon Rush (though this doesn't change what I said). To be clear, the calls to nerf Wixwell are players that purely don't like the fact that it enables early/mid-game players to progress through bottlenecks more easily. The "baby" reaction would be crying for nerfs like you are doing just because you want to keep players down.

@@secretzpt176 You are so extrapolating :) No one is out to get newer player. And Saph is not calling for nerf, just balance. The change is just a much a buff for outside CB and the champ will still be relevant for newer players in CB.

Nah fk this, honestly , if they keep trunda / yumeko comps running free , leave this to the rest , like honestly I am running the yanika nuke and its crazy gear heavy , it takes an hour anyways and most of it manual running cause of unexpected RNG, and max I was able to do was 1.9B dmg in 2 nuke rounds then I got eaten and destroyed by hydra. While trunda teams can deal 10B+Dmg which is broken , atleasr this is a bit counterpart to trunda comps in hydra clash. And honestly new players dont have brognis or maneaters to run unkillable or other infinity teams. But if they managed to pick Wixwell as their first / 2nd fusion it helps them to comfortably run UNM CB , they honestly cannot think of running this anywhere else since the resistance and speed requirements are a whale / end game teritory. Cadaver is capped already so no point of running cadaver in hydra anymore. Just drop it and move on. If they would nerf it right now , trunda will have to be binned as well. Or thes will loose fair chunk of player base.

Hmm, this design is broken it's true, but there are so many things wrong here to speak of on both sides of the coin. Let's just look at one, Tarichka is so P2W it ain't funny but with Armanz and now Wixwell being available to the masses, all of a sudden nerf's are being discussed. I don't have Wixwell but i use Brogni but i don't understand show come artifacts shiels it not extensions what i do wrong or how it works?
