It all happened to us, be happy despite your misfortune. And a big thank you for being open to report. I once had several Otocinclus swim into big shells without me noticing it. Unfortunately they all died since they were unable to shift into reverse.

Figured I'd share so folks don't think I'm super human or something haha. I love ottos so much but they scare me when they get nervous because they're like out of control torpedos in my tanks.

Oh man, i can tell such stories too. Thanks for the honesty. You have some awesome tanks. Keep on going :)

I think most aquascapers have a small library of stories like these that they can tell

I know the feeling, I did the same thing with my betta, I freaked out. Great video showing the unfortunate situations that can happen in the hobby and how its not always glamorous like social media generally shows
@SimplyAquascaping9 ай бұрын
I'm just happy my betta is still alive at this point. Gotta keep it real on social media or it's all just a lie. Did your betta make it out unscathed?

As a fairly new fish keeper it is good to hear that even the people who know what they are doing still mess up and i am not the only one that screws up maybe not the same way but still mistakes are mistakes.
@SimplyAquascaping9 ай бұрын
Mistakes are mistakes and the only thing we can do is to use those mistakes as opportunities to learn and become better in our hobby.
@darthplagueis34009 ай бұрын
@SimplyAquascaping I have learned from my mistakes and avoid a few from listening to you and certain others on youtube I think I have finally found a formula that works for me my tanks seem to be healthy. Keep up doing what your doing I appreciate listening and learning as I grow in this hobby.

Give them time, my Emerald Eye Rasboras' are always up front and they are one of the best schooling fish I've ever seen. I still have to deal with an occasional jumper, they are just like that but they are totally worth keeping.
@SimplyAquascaping9 ай бұрын
The few times I've seen them they look incredible...just gotta figure out why they keep jumping.

I’m on day 14 of a fishless cycle. My patience is wearing thin. I’ve got multiple aquariums, but this is my first time using tissue cultures and I desperately want to avoid snails in this scape. Because of that I can’t just take filter media from one of my other scapes. So far I’ve got 4ppm ammonia, but not a trace of nitrite yet. I can’t wait to move my blue rams into their new home. They’re going to love it compared to what they’re in now.

Water changes on water changes my friend! Blue rams are on my list of fish to keep this year...just have to find a good tank for them to go into. What are you keeping them in right now?

@@SimplyAquascaping 30 gallon tank with sand, mopani, moss and lava rock . I wish I could post a picture here to show you. it’s scaped but it’s not planted. I set it up originally for my green sunfish. I had to move him into a bare bottom tank while I get the blue rams tank set up. The rams have been doing really well for over a month now. They’ve even spawned twice already. Once I get them in their permanent aquascape I’m going to start raising the fry artificially.
@GrumpyGillsFishing9 ай бұрын
@@SimplyAquascaping I posted a 30 second viewing of the scape I’m cycling for them if you want to see. I scratched it together so it’s not production quality, not something I’d normally upload 😂

Were the rasboras wild caught or captivity bread?
@SimplyAquascaping9 ай бұрын
I believe captive bred but I'm not sure. I'll have to inquire with the store I got them with
@Burn3779 ай бұрын
@@SimplyAquascaping probably ask them if they can supply the water parameters they have been in, if they're captive bread they're possibly accustomed to very different levels to wild caught ones.
