40 years ago, in 1984, a nearly 500-foot freighter named the Eldia ran aground at Nauset Beach in Orleans, Massachusetts. It instantly became a huge tourist attraction and would remain so for the roughly seven weeks the ship spent as a resident of Cape Cod.
The story of the Eldia is chronicled here in this segment from the In My Footsteps Podcast recorded in 2021(hence why I refer to the events happening 37 years ago).
This video contains actual footage from the salvage of the ship and visuals created with the help of Bing AI, or used from Canva Pro.
