Something about Vanessa’s behavior always brought out the 🔥🔥🔥 in Clair! Remember the fight with Denise over the sweater, the time she got caught wearing makeup, the time she snuck out with her boyfriend behind Cliff & Clair’s back (and them turning the sofa to face the door when Vanessa got home), and, lastly, the revelation of Vanessa’s hidden engagement to Dabnis! Straight 🔥🔥🔥

Yes!! Vanessa was the one that tried Cliff and Claire's gangsta all the time. The other Huxtable kids have had their own share of dirt but Vanessa was THAT ONE! Adding to her treachery as you stated above, and the infamous Wretched concert trip, there was the time where she and her friends were singing the locomotion wearing provocative clothing, the time where she was fighting with Rudy, which lead to them both being exiled to the basement, and the time where she got drunk with her friends. I was starting to think she didn't like her life because she was living dangerously lol.

Wow! So I always figured that last scene was improvised. Actors do it all the time. You can really tell by 1) the reaction from thr audience 2) Tempestt’s reaction because she jumped back and let out that little yelp 3) if you look closely the camera shook (even the cameraman was shocked) and 4) Phylicia just stood there. She was probably shocked herself
@jonthomas85694 ай бұрын
Yes! I remember thinking that Clair looked like there was a hint of remorse in her face after she exploded and Vanessa left in tears. Phylicia likely did feel a little bad, and it was totally appropriate for the character. And Vanessa looked genuinely fearful and upset throughout the scene. All Bill Cosby could do was hang back and let the actresses work their magic.

I don't hold award shows to any standards because it's mostly paid praise but if anybody deserves an Emmy, it's Phylicia, for her role as Clair Huxtable. That "GO TO BED!" was so real and raw, the true rage of a mother that had no idea where her child was or the danger she could've been in, it came from a place of relief and anger. JUST AMAZING. One little fun facts in the context of the “Wretched” episode is that in NYC, you have to be 18 to have a driver’s license. So that means that at 16 going on 17 (no pun intended), Kara (and perhaps the other girls if they took turns) were driving illegally without a license. Furthermore, that would emphasize that Kara stole her brother’s car.
