This was thrilling. Link has such a matter-of-fact yet hypnotic way of talking. Great stuff.

This guy so well-articulated the writing and creative process. This was great.

Unless I missed it, he didn't talk about one of the best things he ever did: Murder By Natural Causes.

@@sukrod It's not part of the Columbo series, but it"s a two hour mystery movie by Levinson and link starring Hal Holbrook as a mentalist whose wife (Katherine Ross) is plotting to murder him. It is available on youtube. IT is excellent.

This video presents one of the best talks on the craft of writing I’ve ever heard.

Civilization is on the ropes. We are facing a wave of mass incompetence anymore, in multiple fields. The failure of the 1960's generation to ever finish growing up is taking its toll. Standards are increasingly low if not non-existent. Without high standards, things drift to the lowest common denominator, and a high standard of civilization becomes impossible. Link's comments about the decline of writing and movie music is just another symptom of the ongoing dying of American civilization. Jesus.

He’s definitely right about music scores. Among other things. Zimmer is one of the worst working today

In all his interviews I watched there is more than a strong whiff of misogyny. The way he puts down Agatha Christie in this one finally makes his bigotry clear.

Agatha Christie sucks lol

I love Agatha Christie's books, but his critique here of her characters and style are common assessments. Many women like Ruth Rendell have made the same assessments.
