It was the first big PPV (not counting Saudi) outside North America and it's sucess gave the company the confidence to keep doing international shows. It debuted or revitalized many characters and storylines: The rise to prominence of Gunther as IC champ, Judgment Day becoming the team we know, Damage CTRL debut and the Roman Reigns main events, which they are overplayed now but this was the first one that make people thing Roman could lose the belts. I really liked the video but you could've used some examples when talking about the tweaks they've made to improve the product other than just triple H being head of creative, if there were any tweaks, it really helps your argument. Also using names of failed pushes would've been cool to hear about too and what about them you thought wwe could've done better or what you would've done. Finally I think that LA got over with the fans way before he had any involvement with Roman. They even made a thing of it as roman didn't even know who he was since he was gone when LA Knight was rising up the card. But jey and sami I can agree with as they were directly included in the bloodline storyline and have since had main event matches since leaving the bloodline story.

I kinda lost track of the eras after the PG era started, they all seemed to blend into one with the cut off being far less obvious than before. The Renaissance Era as a term for the great comeback of a good WWE product we're witnessing seems like a good fit though, I like it. You've made a lot of really good and valid points. I don't agree with all of them, but that mostly comes down to detail I believe. Even my biggest disagreement is not too bad, that being the celebrities. I will always and forever hate it when people who aren't wrestlers are allowed to go over on actual wrestlers and thus delegitimize the product, even if they can work a decent match. That being said, yes, it's definitely better to have guys than can actually go and who are also currently relevant in terms of drawing power than have heels be the butt of a comedy stint of some one-off celebrity appearance nobody inside or outside the world of wrestling really cares about. Quick question though, what's the background song playing in the intro? The beat sounds very familiar

Very accurate video, and tbh it's because of the overhaul why I came back to watching WWE, but I've gotta Say LA Knight YEAH!! Is the one who got me hooked, this guy promos are the best 😂

This formula is actually working, something that honestly made me sick from the Reality Era (2014-2021) was the overuse of "real life events" in order to promote a storyline or have ppl's eyes & ears behind a wrestler. I mean the whole thing about: "it's real cuz he/she posted it on social media" , "how come can't it be true if it appeared on TBS?", or "the situation is real because Dave Meltzer & Whatculture are covering it, plus several sources are saying that it's true". I'm glad all that crap is over.

I Would Say 2016 Was Still Great Than 2022 And 2023 Because It Had Biggest Debut In The Last 10-15 Years AJ Styles, Big Returns Like Goldberg & Shane McMahon, The Brand Spilt & Draft ( The Only Good One), We Had Shield Triple Threat, AJ Vs Cena's Amazing Rivalry, AJ Won The WWE Title In Just 8-9 Months Of His Debut, We Had Tag Team Of Jericho And Owens, Rollins Turned Face And Went Against The Authority, Women's Division Was On Fire, All The Matches & PPVs Were Interesting And Most Of All Everybody's Character Meant Something And Did Something On The Show. 2022 And 2023 Are Good But 2016 Is On Another Level...

The era is doing really well, product looks good. I stopped watching during the pg era and time they were constantly shoving Cena down our throats, Punk leaving was the final straw. But having the story lines they have now, Bloodline, La Knights rise started getting my attention. Tbf even without punk the company was on a rise and has me on the edge of my seat since the summer. NXT is enjoyable too

The Renaissance era is the perfect way to describe WWE over the past two years, I feel ever since HHH took over the company in summer 2022, the product has seen much improvement, better quality of matches, overall improved presentation. Now with the sale to Endeavor and WWE shifting to Netflix as its new home for programming in January 2025, the potential growth for the WWE is even greater. The Rock retuning to WWE and being a member of the TKO Board of Directors, CM Punk’s return, all show the WWE has plenty of surprises for us in the future. 😊
