In California you MUST take the bar to be a lawyer, which is the hardest bar test in the US btw but you can opt to do an apprenticeship rather than going to law school and taking the LSAT

If Kim finishes her law firm apprenticeship she doesn't automatically become a lawyer, she would still need to take and pass the california bar exam. Generally for a person to take a bar exam they would need to have a law degree, but certain states like CA has exceptions like these.

I am IN NO WAY excusing Shia's abhorrent behavior, but ... Have you noticed over the past several years that the possibilities for victims of abuse to seek help and to heal from their traumas are wide open, but perpetrators of abuse are expected to change without any guidance? I am speaking as someone who has spent countless hours on KZbin, Reddit, and other forums consuming content made specifically to help people like me heal from abusive relationships. Is there comparable help out there for people accused of abuse who want to change? Not all abusers are incapable of recovery. Abuse is a learned behavior, and it can be unlearned. So if we aim to curb the epidemic of abuse (and I do believe it's an epidemic), shouldn't there be resources out there for the people who are causing the problem? I'm glad the #MeToo movement has brought us this far. There once was a time when someone could not even confide in their closest friends let alone announce publicly that they had been abused. It seems that we still place a moratorium on admitting to having abused. Now it's time to reckon with the deeper truth: that we all are capable of hurting each other, and people are not either abusers or victims, but that this is a pattern of behavior endemic to our culture. We all have something to teach each other about healing.
