Now, I was kind of annoyed by the judges reaction at 27:43. Yes, I get that his style was a little older, but he did have a wonderful talent. I know they didn't say that he couldn't sing, but here's where I have to call them out on a little hypocrisy: You say you've created this competition and you want to be fair to all age groups. If a 16 year old had come in and sung that style, they would have LOVED IT (I know because I've seen some of the later episodes in this season and others). They compliment "OH your STYLE is so old school, it's great." But when the older generation actually SINGS that music, a lot of times the judges give them grief for it. I wish they would be more honest and just tell these people "We want more of a pop singer" than patronizing them by saying "Your style is too old" when they eat that stuff up if a younger person sings it. Also, I do get that a lot of this is for ratings, but don't jerk people around like that, especially when you're brutally honest to others.
