Jules says - "what if the dog gets eaten?" The rest of us say - "Oh dear..." I love this episode, it's such a great balance of humour, crazy body counts and intimate moments between Mulder and Scully. And, yes of course we're going to see Big Blue at the end - great call, Jules. :)

Darin Morgan was a story editor on this episode. You can kind of tell -- it has his sensibility. You can also see callbacks to his previous episodes -- Queequeg from "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" and the two stoner kids from "War of the Coprophages."

Jules!💜 Love the flowers! Ah, yes... Sadness visits another X-Files episode. Just a bit more personal this time.😿 So we find out why little Queequeg is only a trilogy in the X-Files episode history. Very sad, for Queequeg, and for Scully.😢 Jules! I could not agree with you more! Top shelf analysis of this episode.😍 You hit every main point, and saw the value in each to the story, and the series at large. Excellently spoken. Your best to date, in my opinion.🙌🙌🙌 This one had it all. Quirky humor, sarcastic quips, and quirky characters. It also had Scully, putting personal skepticism aside, and supporting Mulder, with the request to the sheriff for more men, and a couple of abstract, yet intense, and caring moments between Mulder and Scully. I think this is the first time I have heard anyone theorize that Mulder was distracting Scully with his big blue talk, after Queequeg's disappearance.🤔 The discussion on the rock was another beautiful bit of dialogue, which, demonstrated the deep friendship that is the solid basis of their relationship, their respect, for each other. They feel so comfortable, each with the other, to have these frank examinations of their lives, their motives, hopes, and dreams, without anger, or bitterness, just honesty, and I think it is this deep friendship, which gives their romantic moments - words, gestures, looks - such great meaning. It adds much depth, to even the simplest of moments in this series.😊 Also, as you state in the outro, the alligator was probably the big bad here, and Big Blue was probably a docile, peace loving creature. The anti-monster of the week! 😛Fully supported, I believe, by the serene sailing by in the final shot of the episode. It is rare to have a not monster of the week monster of the week story.🤣 Even rarer to have a toad licker,, which might be the true horror of this episode.🤣 I'll just throw this in too. At 7:05, the appearance of the Skeptical Character actor, Chris Ellis, this time as the Sheriff, This guy has been so many different people, on so many different American TV shows. No matter what series you're watching here in the states, chances are you've seen him. And you managed a "Just go with it... "😂 Excellent work watching, immersing, analyzing, and editing Jules Very well done.💖 Have a serene Sunday! Take care of that thumb! Have a Jules Day! I think I hear a 5th mission calling my name. Thank you, Jules💜🤗💜

A 5th mission!! Tom!! My goodness gracious me 😅 you'll be caught up to me in no time hehe! I definitely need to do more swinging around, more leveling up... I will get to that soon 😜 next time I record is Tuesday, so I'm looking forward to making a couple more videos that day so I can get back to the story!! I love so much of what you said here, Tom! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your perspective, and your love for this episode. It's always wonderful to read such well thought out words, so I sincerely thank you 💜 I truly adored this episode. I really do think Big Blue was a peaceful not-monster of the week, just wanting to live their life as best they could 💜 I don't think I'll forget the moment on the rock. It was, I think, their best conversation so far. It really did highlight how their relationship is much more than a business one. They are, above all else, friends 🥰 Thank you so much, Mr Tom Swift 💜

This is one of my favorite episodes! And, amongst X-Philes, it's iconic because of 'the conversation on the rock'. The next one of these types of episodes where theres a little humor thrown in and lots of Mulder / Scully interaction out in the wilderness is going to be 'Detour' in Season 5, Episode 4. Another great great episode! Look forward to you getting to that one.

One of the best monster of the week episodes, and it’s so fun watching you get to see it for the first time! Of course it’s terrible what happened to Scully’s doggie… I wish they hadn’t done that. The interactions between Mulder and Scully are so great though. And it’s so great how you called the ending so perfectly! Of course Big Blue was going to show itself just to us, the viewers. Poor Mulder is always denied that tangible proof he wants so badly!

I know I often use the words thoughtful and insightful to describe your X Files reactions, Juliette, but that's because your reactions never fail to be thoughtful and inaightful, and this reaction to Quagmire is certainly no exception. You rightly praised the discussion that Mulder and Scully had while believing they were stranded in the middle of the lake, and you used the phrase, "conversation on the rock". Did you know that a Google search for that exact phrase primarily contains references to Quagmire? In contrast, a search containing the words "Pomeranian gator snack" does not seem to contain any mentions of Queequeg (R.I.P.) or Quagmire, for some strange reason.

Thank you, John. I appreciate you very much 😸💜😸

Such a fun reaction. I've actually been to that lake. The ducklings were very afraid since we have a lake on our property. Of course I had to tell them that they are safe as long as they don't go down to the lake. The lake monster doesn't travel far from it. They looked at me like I was pulling their legs, so I told them about the beavers and river otters, and how they are mean and vicious. Have a wonderful day.

What I found really annoying about this episode was Scully saying Queequeg all the time. It was a tongue in cheek episode obviously parodying The Lochness Monster. When there were so many mysterious deaths happening so often and Scully being ultra logical but irritating at the same time time saying it could have been a motor boat propeller it seems crazy. Poor old Queequeg gets The Big Blue treatment. You think they would have waited until daylight to get the boat out on the lake, a bit of light relief when Scully says there goes the $500 deposit, and Mulder says 'Scully are you coming on to me' when she tries to explain his raison d'être for the X-Files, and of course hilarious when they realise they are so close to shore. Mulder kills the alligator, but of course we get the last shot of Big Blue out on the lake. I wasn't a really big fan of this episode but it does have some great comedy moments.

The frog got the last laugh in the beginning! This is one of my favorite episodes of Season 3 - except losing Queequeg! 😭 I used to have an interest in lake monsters - or the idea of them. Although this series is set in the US, the first five seasons were filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada - and British Columbia has their own folklore lake monster - Ogopogo, of Lake Okanagan which I think was mentioned in the episode. I love the conversation between Mulder and Scully on the rock - humorous, touching, interesting, and yes, I agree, a little bit romantic! 💘 Big Blue showed himself at the end after our esteemed FBI agents left! Poor Mulder, he usually misses out on the confirmation of his theories at the last minute! 👽 You're almost at the end of Season 3! Is there an echo in here? LOL. "Quagmire" also means: "a difficult, precarious, or entrapping position (predicament)", an apt description of the overall scenario Mulder and Scully operate within whenever investigating their XF cases understanding that very few are going to regard them as rational or serious. Add to that the fact that they're government employee, FBI agents investigating the possible validity of Big Blue, and their dilemma of the local scientist viewing them as being somewhat "swampy"-minded gives the title something of a double-meaning. LOL

"What's not to love about this episode?" The death of Queequeg was a great injustice. I didn't think they'd allow that to happen. Cool filler episode, not the most memorable, but still a fun one.

That's actually interesting point, was it Big Blue or the gator that did the killing. Also what sank the boat? Fairly sure a gator as big as they are wouldn't have done that🧐🤨 Great episode thanks so much Juliette🥰

@@julesreactsWell, even if Big Blue sank the boat, because he was startled or by way of accidental collision, the gator probably still did the actual killings.

I'm okay with the end of season 11. It's not perfect, but I like it better than the end of season 9 (ending #1), and the end of "I Want To Believe" (ending #2), and the end of the first revival season (ending #3).

Hi lovely. Another fabulous upload. I was wondering what advice you can give me on how to deal with stress or negativity
@julesreacts
@julesreacts 11 ай бұрын
Dealing with stress and negativity can be debilitating! It's hard to not focus on the bad things when they seem to take over... it might be worth trying to change your thinking. If a bad thought pops into your head, get rid of it and immediately think of something else. Don't let it live in your head, it's not welcome 💜 you've got this!! You can do it ✨️
