it's sad that they're going to shut down the xbox 360 store very soon, but this was a very cool restoration. This is the model of xbox 360 that I own so it's very nostalgic for me

You'll still be able to purchase games and have access to any content you previously paid for, so it's not actually dead, it's just gonna be working in reduced functionality moving forward. Still, it's the end of an era.

Found a black xbox one in my apartment dumpster a few weeks ago. Brought it in and plugged it up and to my suprise it worked. The disk drive wouldnt read games but would read dvds. So I disconnected the disk drive and made the xbox digital only. In the empty disk drive space , I mounted a 1 terabyte ssd . I know its an older xbox one but im not complaining for free

I've been playing games since the Atari days, and Xbox 360 is on the top of my list of favorite consoles. Thank you for restoring another one and giving it a little more life!

Most of the time (at least when it's well designed), it's the power supply which will die if you confuse between 220 and 110 volts when selecting the power. I had some PCs and other electrical/electronical appliances that had nothing more than a blown fuse because the previous owner put 220 volts on a 110 volts supply.

You should have jailbreak it. I think Xbox 360 live and its store is dead now. So, no problem. And its DVD drivers won't livre forever, so using a HDD do play games is better.

Sometimes it's strange to take something to the service center because something is broken. They test it at the service center and everything works normally there... That's why every time I take something to the service center, I give a note or say what's broken. I wanted to ask what You recommend for cleaning PCBs. fine dust that causes skipping, e.g. mini-keys and mimibutton to the button. A very interesting episode in advance and thank You. It's nice to see how such equipment works.
@NXSProductions7 ай бұрын
Isopropyl alcohol above 95% (99% is preferable) or Brake Cleaner. Brake cleaner is non-corrosive and leaves a nice shine, but I prefer alcohol for its fast-drying, no residue aspects.
@wiedzmin30507 ай бұрын
@@NXSProductions You know, I need to clean the audio control panel and I don't want anything to fall off, so I cleaned it with a brush, but there is still a lot of dust on it. Even though You can't see it, I don't know why the dust causes the tracks to skip? It activates itself. I'll try looking for isopropyl alcohol, maybe it will work. If You have any advice, I'll be glad to hear it! Thanks!
@NXSProductions7 ай бұрын
@@wiedzmin3050 I think for your needs, that a soft-bristle toothbrush with an articulate/semi-articulate head and the isopropyl alcohol will work wonders. As for the alcohol, you can order it online or if you have a medical supplies shop or a pharmacy nearby, you can find it at those locations as well. Just make sure you keep the % above 91%. Like I said, I prefer 99% which isn't much more expensive, but 91% isopropyl alcohol will work in a pinch so long as you make sure the PCB is completely dry before running any electricity to it. You're very welcome! Let me know how it goes!
@wiedzmin30507 ай бұрын
@@NXSProductions Obviously, I even saw changes after just using the brush. I need to find this isopropyl substance. And waiting for it is no problem, even a few days, it can dry as long as it works automatically without interruption. But thank You for the advice! It will definitely be useful.
@NXSProductions7 ай бұрын
@@wiedzmin3050 Dude, the isopropyl alcohol is essentially just rubbing alcohol that is primarily used as a wound disinfectant, incision preparation (cleaning skin before surgery) and can be found anywhere. Like I said, the main key is to shoot for 95% or higher, with 91% being the cutoff. Are you American?

the result of plugging that 110v brick into 220v wasn't surprising. When that happens in most cases the power supply whether its internal or external will take the blow with the rest of the system remaining largely unscathed
