I have one of these - it's a nice little e-reader. It's as slow as all hell, but just about good enough for the Kindle app that I use it for 100% of the time. Trying to do literally anything else is too painful, but that makes it a great device for stopping me doomscrolling and only reading.

Smoorez, those are meant for reading epubs, mobi, fb2 and other book formats, pdf is a bad experience on dedicated ebook readers as well.

I really enjoyed the video. Brilliant from beginning to end. The vignettes are brilliant as are the on screen comments. I've got to say I don't hate this device at all. It's totally honest about itself. Well calling itself a smartphone is really over hyping this device. I do like the screen. I've stopped reading books, my disabilities make holding a book difficult and I could only read in bed, or lying down. This lightweight device may be an option should i get back into reading. Sci fi, fantasy or horror. The Devive Miss Ripley is awesome as ever. I wonder how this device compares to the Amazon Kindle as that was an E reader right from the start. Not that early ones will work anymore after being bricked by Amazon, if I remember rightly. Glad I continued watching right to the end as the bloopers were fantastic 😂

the biggest advantage to an android e-ink tablet is the ability to use a browser. 90% of what i read is online so a traditional e-reader like a kindle is pretty much useless to me. tablets like boox note air are much more capable. That said its still pretty useless for anything other than reading and maybe sudoku.

i kinda want to see your face more often, you are just so cute (and just say it, you are an actual ainol operator right? XD) anyway, i love reading books and the best way for me is with my note and readera, it's a simple and yet, complete app to get the best out of your phone to read but yeah the battery is fine but with something like this it could be better. i think the price is way too expensive tho, even tho i was thinking, does the others have the possibility of upload external ebooks/pdf? this one does, but i'm not sure about the kindle for example. that could be an important factor for buying or not.

Yeah benzo we found them on stream one time and I bought the merch! It's just some random company on AliExpress putting logos on cheap clothing but I got the hoodie, beanie, a red hat and a grey t-shirt so I am set for all occasions :)

I was using mine 5 minutes ago, I love it. It does exactly what I want, a small very portable ereader that can't do anything more than display my books. I also learn how to download ao3 fanfics directly which makes it better. Let's see how many weeks it takes me to read this 500k+ Harr Potter fanfic

It seems this display is only capable of black or white, no greyscales, therefore the dithering. Most recent eInk are capable of greyscale, which greatly helps with clarity.

Smoorez, there's actually an app called scrcpy, its to cast the phone screen to PC through ADB, maybe you can make a video using this device with that seeing how it actually looks with color and how it actually performs

E-Ink works perfectly fine with Android if the device is well designed for it. Have a few BOOX tablets, and that deals with android quite well. Wouldn't play video on them unless I'm just looking for information on something, as the watching experience is a bit of a mess, but for anything static it works WAY better than the device in the video.

Yeah this one is really only made as a reader, hisense eink phone are made for smartphone use with gaming and KZbin capabilities, but their price are according to the specs.

There's not many small e-readers out there, if it wasn't for the abysmal battery life I'd pick it up and install koreader. People report a 3 day battery life when using it as an e-reader, that's just appalling. I presently use an Odin Lite (Gaming handheld) with koreader and that lasts over a month with low usage such as reading (Dimensity 900). The feature list is OK, just. It doesn't have an SD card reader which it should imho. I can transfer files from other devices with kdeconnect, it should at least have a headphone jack, especially for audio books. It's 80% of the way to a device I'd purchase.

@@Nikkerston I was playing around with my Galaxy S6 edge pretty recently and heating issues and bad battery aside, I was surprised that it didn't feel that much different doing basic everyday things than my ZenFone 10. I reckon the Note 9 will still be very good even today 💪

Note: The wallpapers are Japanese. Best way to distinguish it from mandarin/chinese and japanese, is to see if it has curvatures in each letter/character. If it's straight, it's chinese, if it isn't, it's japanese. Edit: I'm neither a weeb or language person, I was told this by a japanese person once.

An ereader is just so much better, it's amusing to take a look at but not worth buying ever. It doesn't cost that much less than the entry Kobo model does brand new, which is just light years ahead as an ereader and an experience.

An ipad can do almost everything your iphone can do, but we prefer the smaller form factor and portability that a smaller, more pocketable device for a reason. The inkpalm fits a niche that the kobo never could. Just walking around and pulling it out when you're just standing around waiting.
