Most popular racing engine in Japan is KT100cc. Tends to get a bit sluggish on hot racing days after especially on the turns. Any way around this?

that hilti drill, probably cost more than 2 of the engines combined

I just bought a used cart with this engine for my son. How do I tell what carb it has. Also, the threads on the crank shaft where the starter nut thread on is stripped. What’s the best way to repair this. I started filing the threads but as I get closer to the end the metal is pretty mashed. Can I get away with cutting the end off to the clean threads?

I heard recently the engine will no longer be in production.

Do these motors use oil for the crank case? I don't see a drain plug at the bottom.
@miked5962 жыл бұрын
@Dartgame 340 lol. Not a troll question. All 2 strokes that i've worked on have a wet clutch and gears in the bottom crank case. Like the rm85- rm250, yz85-yz250, cr85- cr250, and kx85-kx250. They all carry one quart of motor oil in the crank case to lube up clutch disk, gears, and crank..

does anyone know what the best gear ratio set up for yamaha 100s motor is? I am new to Karting and just purchased a senior Arrow AX9 go kart frame with 11×7.10-5 rear racing tires on a 50mm rear axel I am purchasing the yamaha 100s motor next week, though not sure what gear set up to use, I want good take of speed and best max speed I could get out of for performance. I weigh around 98kg

That gear ratio will change from track to track & whether your running road courses or dirt & asphalt tracks also tire size. . Best to ask the leaders in your class for a reference & your engine builder as well . The rest will come from your practice time & record keeping. I ran Enduros with WKA & Woodbridge Kart Club at Summit Point for 15 years so there are many factors as what gear ratio to run at what track your at. There is no one set ratio.
@tjrn42035 жыл бұрын
It is best to ask around the track paddock what people are using some don't want you to know some will tell you I run 10:86 ratio on my kt100 but my track i drive at has a long straight so I go big on the rear sprocket
