Coming from a 28 yr old that has done EXACTLY what you are doing now. Do not sell the mt 10. I traded my 18 mt10 on a 18 R1. I now own a 17 fz10 and sold the R1. The fz is a much more fun and versatile bike. The r1 sucks to ride after about an hour. Not taking away from the r1 as it’s super capable but I would take the mt/fz10 anywhere but a race track

I did the same damn thing ! Had a 18 R1 .. 13300$ with 2200 miles .. I put every mod on it I could in 6 months and it was great. Mind you I owned a 14 R1 and a 17 fz10 before hand .. after 9 months of owning the new r1 I sold it and got a 2020 mt10 again. It’s to damn good. Supersports just ain’t it on the road and I’ll always feel that way.

You went the exact opposite route I chose with these bikes lol, I started with a 2020 R1 and decided to sell it and get a 2019 MT10 because I felt the R1 was more track based and the Mt was a more well rounded everyday street monster. Going almost 200 everywhere is just going to get me killed or in jail one day with all the bad drivers and police here in Arizona so I like to just stick with more torque on the low end vs the higher top speed. Plus the street fighter look of naked bikes is just unbeatable in my personal opinion. If I was rich I might get another R1 for track days but with having to pick I went with the MT10 and have no regrets so far

My thoughts exactly. I had an older R1 but I prefer a more comfortable seating position for daily riding and lower end torque just to get ahead of cars without pulling all that high end speed

The R1 is really uncomfortable on long rides where as the MT-10 is comfortable, has a digital display, fuel gage, cruise control, abs, traction control and more where as the R1 doesn't have these features well no fuel gage anyway.

I had a 2009 R1 then I got over it and bought a fz09 had the fz09 for about 7 years then bought a 2019 Yamaha R1 with 2,900 miles and bone stock for 13k out the door in 2023. I had the bike for a month now and I did a lot of mods so far and I’m waiting on my werkes exhaust that’s gonna take 6 weeks and it’s only been 3 weeks. 😩 I agree about the comfortability but it’s a sports bike and it looks way way better than a naked bike. Also R1 is more confidence inspired.

How does the qs downshift work in r1? Do you need to be off the throttle? Im getting mine either somewhere in may or june

How's the insurance on the mt10? Im 25 next month bout to get an MT10. Been on a cbr600rr since 19 years old and insurance was pretty dumb on that, better now haha but I wonder if the mt10 will be any better on insurance for me

@@VeryFastBoi Can't remember the exact number since it was over a year ago, but the cheapest quote I could find was $800 a month. I know the ergos on sport bikes aren't supposed to be comfortable, but I'm just too tall and fat to be bearable. I love the R1, but I'll have to "settle" for a mt10. Sorry for all the "buts", have a good one man
