I feel privileged that the phenomenal music created by Jimmy Webb poetry-lyrics with Richard Harris interpretation-performance entered my life, as I sought my identity apart from the family that had brought me from birth to high school graduation. At 69, I still-and forever will-listen to many wonderful Webb-Harris songs and thank God for the creative genius of these two fellow sojourners.

Isn't he wonderful? I can't get over the fact that in his late teens-early twenties, he was brilliant enough to write, coach singers, arrange and produce as well as conduct and write for an entire orchestra. Astounding !

@@tigerpisces5506 It was always a huge regret that the third album never materialised, due principally to Richard Harris's film commitments always causing postponements to planned recording sessions. According to the UK-based fan club at that time, some sessions actually did take place and a few tracks were recorded, but I personally believed that such claims had no foundation and were made simply to keep the many fans happy who were constantly asking when the new album would appear. Nevertheless, Richard Harris spoke enthusiastically about it; in one press interview, he said it was to be a double album, with one track taking up the entire side of a disc. What an epic work it would have been.

Such a haunting, beautiful song...as a 15 year old at the time, limited by AM radio, I can't believe this wonderful creation made it on the air. It had an effect on me for decades, although I didn't "get" its meaning until much later. Yes, our world is fragile and mothers are mothers, no matter where they live.

I think too many of our generation was guilty of tunnel vision andonly seemed to have an ear for rock music to thee exclusion of the beauty of this allbum and its predecessor. Such a shame. I am glad I have alway been encouraged by my mom to appreciate all kinds of music. I saw an interview with Al Kooper who said his erecord collection was vast and unlimmited in its scope. John Lennon said he even liked elevator music. Thanks, Mom, for giving me the spirit to love this kind of music too. This kind of music made me dream and led me out of the ghetto. Thank you Jimmy Webb!

And no-one performed his work better than Richard Harris. It was a most unlikely combining of talents, but what a success it was. I saw an interview with Jimmy Webb in which he said that in the months before Richard Harris died, there had been discussions about their getting together again. What might that have produced ? We can only wonder.

Some of the Thelma Houston songs are great (if over produced) and 'The Animals Christmas' is bloody brilliant.The first solo album is good but after that.....the same old covers over and over...

The lead-in to possibly one of the best albumns ever made. The whole effort was prophetic..Just look at 2020 America. While the faces will change, the lines will invaribly remain the same...That is until ~~~ Rock on
