Amen! I had to watch this sermon twice today because it was so relevant. It hit the nail right in the head, thank you Lord for using Tauren Wells to preach this word in the way you intended it. My prayer; Father remove the scales from my eyes so that I am able to see through my pain. Lord help me find the clarity and God given perspective in my relationships, my job and my behavior. Change me O' God so that instead of sobbing in my pain, I use it to heal Lord, heal the wounds unseen, I pray that my heart will change according to your touch. I feel like Tauren made and important distinction between looking past and looking over. Looking past is to deny that there's a problem. Looking over recognizes that there is a problem but that God is greater than the problem and His perspective is completely different from ours. As a sixteen year old preacher in a school where the spirit of drugs and teen pregnancy runs rampage, that really hit...nothing can replace the touch..I can preach all I want but I’m order to preach I need the touch, uk preaching to other peopl doesn’t replace the touch. I love that, I couldn’t have said any better.. and this time away has given me time to feel that touch and honestly truly say I’ve seen some crazy things this year with my walk with Christ. When you said that you choose what you see, I had been on my run outside. I looked up at the same time and saw a cloud and I saw it as an elephant. It may not have looked like an elephant, but that’s what I saw. It made me wonder if I’m choosing to see my problems as bigger than God and that I need to rethink the problems going on in my life. Elevation Church Honestly what brought me to tears was Tauren and Lorna facing the bigotry. It shouldn’t have surprise me but I did. That and even hearing Pastor Mike with his personal experiences with racism and injustice. These are beautiful men and women of God. These people are our family. It hurts my heart but is also a clear wake up call of our role and Christians to combat bigotry and bias in the church and the world. We need to have and continue the accountability as racism and bias IS NOT of God. I think it’s really easy to minimize if you are not doing it, you are obsolved. We are not, ALL of us are accountable and need to make a conscious, intentional stand.
