What are you goals for 2025?

My main goal hunting wise for 2025, is to get my first deer 🦌 in Ohio. Where I have now lived for a year and a half. Especially with archery 🏹 equipment. I would also like to get my first buck 🦌 with a bow 🏹. If I can get that done early enough I would love to get back into waterfowl hunting, which can be so much fun. I need at least one more person to go with for safety and security reasons as well as it’s more fun with others. I would like to do a black bear 🐻 hunt but I doubt that I can. My other large goal is to finally get out west for my first Western Big Game hunt. I have points in some states like Colorado and Wyoming and a couple others. Probably try for a 3rd rifle deer hunt in Colorado. I have 5 points for that.

@@TheWVgoodguy22 I love that goal man. Getting a buck with a bow isn't an easy accomplishment! I feel like the first couple of years in a place are where you really get to know it, but that's how we become better hunters. I hope you're able to get it done and get back into waterfowl! Any ideas if Ohio is a decent state for waterfowl hunting? I know where I live in Tennessee isn't known for waterfowl, but the west the state is. Man, good luck with getting out for your first western hunt! Are you applying for both Wyoming and Colorado or what are you giving a shot?

@ definitely no small feat with that goal. 🏹🦌 Yeah one has to learn an area, how to access it quickly and quietly etc… I have heard that it’s ok. Tons of water and farmland I would only apply for one, since I only have money and time for one state a year or I would double up

If you somehow by the Grace of God draw both Wyoming elk and Colorado mule deer 🦌, you will be going elk hunting in Wyoming and turning back the deer 🦌 tag. Because in Wyoming unless by some extreme circumstance like medical or military you CANNOT turn your tag back in and get your money back or points. In Colorado you have up to 30 days before the start date of the hunt to turn it back in. But you have to pick between getting your tag cost back or your points back. You have to pick one or the other not both. I like your goals to work towards. Good luck 🍀

I completely agree, I'm applying for both and if I draw both I'll be returning the Colorado tag. I'm not in the military anymore and hopefully don't have any medical emergencies so Wyoming is what I would stick with! Honestly, with how point creep is and the upcoming changes in Colorado and the restructuring of Wyoming... it's hard to know what is going to happen. Thank you for the support!

@ you are welcome 🙏 and I believe that you will get your Colorado results back before the resident elk deadline so you can modify it or withdraw before the deadline if you need to. I would look a little more into that to be 100% sure.

I'm not sure, but I'd be happy if I got either. I actually just did my AZ elk and pronghorn applications. Years like this I shoot for the stars with AZ lol
