its like when you are capable of completing something , say in warthunder you play well and lets say you're an 8.3-9.3 jet , you get 3-4 kills average from dogfights and decent aim , it makes you feel good . But than you get killed by an f104 third partying and than the next round is a full downtier but your teammate is their partying all your kills and you don't event get the kill because they died before you got a shot off or otherwise . Yes you'll still be getting 3-4 kills but it sucks to have something out of your control that you can capably deal with otherwise in other better suited planes or if certain aspects out of your control teammates uptiers etc weren't screwing you over . That 3-4 kill average won't feel as fun .

there is no more effective countermeasure ingame than that of an enemy's missile he decides to launch right as you launch at him. no matter what kind of missile, for some reason another missile leaving the rail is genuinely more effective than any chaff or flare

Do you know why? I'll tell you if you don't..... the temperature of a rocket booster when firing can reach temps over 6000 degrees. Yes the seeker head on a missle that is guided by heat will probably prefer 6000 degrees over the jet engine which reaches 3,400 degrees. Does that make sense to you? I tried to be very clear.

@@miked815 yes, i am aware of the methods employed by heat seeking missiles to track heat. the problem is, past a very certain early age- around the mid to late 60s or so- missiles grew into better technologies that would help discriminate against background clutter. NOT to be confused with IRCCM, but instead general improvement against distractions from natural IR interference. this includes the pre-programmed knowledge of the average temperature range of a jet engine, which does not burn as hot as the 6000° rocket yes, thats actually the whole point. even earlier non-IRCCM missiles have this function too, provided its not an AIM-9B or R-3S. the very reason why flares work irl is because they are specifically engineered to burn at those same temperature ranges, thus mimicking the signature of a jet engine. the fact that any random motor of a rocket or missile can do this all, and more effectively than the specifically engineered countermeasure, is the problem. understand that??

5BA is probably the worst Mirage of the game lol Limited bomb load with no ballistics computer, AIM-9Js. I would play the Mirage 5 at 10.0 rather than the 5BA at 10.3.

The others are awful BR wise and I do have a few MiG-21s so I -am- was familiar with the frame. + its the best/most modern MiG-21 in the game; that's enough for me!

I remember arguing about it with community manager on forums - even getting banned for calling him out on his BS claiming the Harrier without flares or RWR is "just fine" at 10.0... then they put A-10 and SU-25 at 9.7 with all aspect missiles...

@@Asghaad yeah, GR1 has no place at 9.7 or 10.0. It's horrible experience because you have to rely on the enemy making mistake. No other plane has to do that afaik. If you die to GR.1 you had to make a mistake.

The F-4J definitely isn't as bad as people seem to think it is, but yeah, I would have loved something more interesting as a new high tier premium. There are so many planes they could have chosen instead, but of course, it had to be something russian to piss a bunch of people off, just like they did with the Bhishma

@@Bezem1944 it USED to be grossly OP at 9.3 when there were no all aspects at that BR bracket and Sabres and Mig-15s used to be 8.-9.0 ... it SHOULD have been left at 9.7 because even then it was nothing but free food to MiG-19s, F-5s, F-8s, MiG-21s etc ... instead it was pushed to 10.0 when max was 11.0 and farmed 24/7 by then top tier Mig-21 BiS, F-4E and MiG-23 ... then came all aspect attackers ... we even asked at least for flares that were nothing but jurry rigged solution that was used for tech tree variants but the answer was "not historical" (meanwhile premium F-5 that was retired from US service before there was even concept of IR countermeasures at all had them ...) despite the same "just stuff it in storage compartment, drill some holes in the cover and lead wires into the cockpit" "solution" that was installed into AV8s headed for Falklands on route by the crew being used on tech tree ones as excuse to let them have flares ... its been more than year now and GR1 still faces radar guided missiles and all aspect heatseekers without RWR nor countermeasures ...
