“The Year of the Cat”, Al Stewart & Peter Wood. Based on HD Piano Arrangement. Lara Mason Piano.

This famous piece was requested by my friend, Alison, who has informed me that January 2023 begins a year of the cat on the Vietnamese zodiac.
Since I am a dog person (allergic to cats), I put out a call to my cat friends asking if they would like to show off their “children”. I received 18 minutes of footage for a 7 minute video, showing just how much people love their cats! Enjoy!

I think it was 11 pages long, but my buddy requested it, so I did my best and added friends’ cats 🐈 to add to the fun. There was no melody in the arrangement, just chording, so I added the melody in.

Thanks so much, Donald! I bought the sheet music from HD Piano on Musicnotes.com for about $5. I added the melody to the chords but I don’t have that part written out. It would take HOURS to write out exactly what I did. It is 11 pages long with repeats 🙃. Thanks so much for your comment!

Hello again ... I noticed you are playing a K. Kawaii. I am ready to purchase a new GL-10 for $11,000. Do you think it is a good deal AND do you really like yours?

I have had my Kawaii GE-1 piano for 40 years! It has been a wonderful instrument! I think the tone is really beautiful ( better in person than on my videos). It has had a few tiny repairs and holds the tuning for 1 to 3 years before I need to have it tuned again. Because it was built so long ago, I wouldn’t know how to compare it to today’s Kawaii pianos’ quality. I would certainly buy another Kawaii. Apparently, prices have doubled since ours came to live with us in the 1980’s!
