It's a complicated season to say the least. Though the 22TDs were not scored against replacement players during the strike shortened season, the superstars really had a once in a lifetime chance to shine against less prepared competition. Reggie white was also extremely dominant that year

This is happening this season with Barkley, who is 101 yards short of Dickerson's single season rushing record. Dickerson did it in 16 games, and Barkley has a 17th game to break the record, so people are saying it shouldn't count. However, Dickerson did the same thing when he rushed for the record, because OJ Simpson rushed for 2,003 yards in 14 games, and Dickerson didn't go over 2,000 yards until the 15th game. I don't see anyone saying Dickerson shouldn't have the record.

Moss was supremely gifted. He is probably the most gifted WR of all time. Rice outworked him, ran better routes, actually went over the middle and outlasted him. In some ways with all of Moss's gifts he under-achieved. Terrell Owens put up just as good if not better numbers than Moss. T.O. was an absolute beast physically but didn't possess Moss's natural talent, nor Rice's work ethic.
