I think if I had to boil everything down to biggest fail and biggest win; Biggest fail would probably be one of two things. First was after seeing success from the first FNAF video, I didn't follow up with another video in that niche and instead made a video about the Sonic 2 movie predictions. That killed any momentum I would've had for a long time lol. The other is waiting so long to start making shorts. I kept telling myself I'd wait til the February update to start posting but eventually caved and started early, and they've paid off dividends of attention and helping me to edit better in general. Like you guys said, forcing me to make a succinct -60 second video really got me to focus on what's important and what isnt. As far as a win goes, since I've started posting regularly back in January I've only missed one week of an upload, and that was right when finals were going on at the school I work at so it was a hectic week in general.

Love the podcasts, guys. Just got to 29:00 and 32:00 and I think it's a very important point. More and more, I see streams with top-tier tech and masterful effects. But they kind of suck. It comes down to the streamer. At this point, most people actually expect the tech and effects. But if someone is genuinely entertaining and can make/hold lively conversation and engagement, then they can get away with a bare-bones stream. In other words, back to basics! Public speaking, body language, understanding your audience, etc. Keep up the great podcasts!

In regards to your comments about overlays and animations. I was a sucker and created like 30 different ones thinking it would make me unique and exciting. But instead it was insanely over used and I thought it was good content because it was so fast paced, but looking back it completely ruined my content. I don't regret it because I have learned for myself what I believe "true content" is. But Eljay's comment about making sure to balance could not be more right! Great episode again boys! Huge fan! ps. CONGRATS ELJAY! 115k views at the moment on your latest video, insane!!

Absolutely loved this podcast. A lot of great perspectives and outlooks on content creation as a whole. Note pad was out and reflecting begins. Happy new year guys.

Ludwig has shown us how the game is done. I feel he's working on more projects now on YT. But his Twitch days show us how it's done. And we all may not make it in 3 years. Because we need to learn how to entertain first. How to bring value first. He did Stand Up while at ASU. That's life experience some of us don't have. But the formula he followed. We can all do.

love the video boys, and i have to completely agree that now its very hard to find an interesting new streamer or to keep viewers watching your stream, i guess the audience is changing and they are very strict on what content they wanna consume. anyways, if you love and enjoy what you do (like streaming or content creation) then real people will eventually notice and also appreciate and stick around :D the journey is hard tho

Sorry for the second comment, but I wanted to say I think you all would have been proud of me for what I did yesterday. I was sitting at my house playing Kirby and the Forgotten Land when a short format idea popped into my head for it. So I took 5 minutes to film a couple things in the game, recorded a voice over for the parts, found a YT studio music track to go behind it that fit the theme, and edited this 17 seconds short with beginning subtitles and such. Then when I posted it I got a very good return. Hitting like 1.5k views on YT shorts (which I’m still tryna learn) with like 27 likes and then over 4k views on tik tok with about 200 likes. It’s the second scripted YT short I’ve made (the other was a boss fight tutorial) and both have performed similar on YT in terms of views and likes. however, even though it is still a small number it felt really good to randomly create something from start to finish and have people enjoy it. (Side note: my editing is still quite bad imo. I am actively tryna improve but sometimes I don’t even know how I do certain things and can’t figure out how to fix em. Still it was better edited than I would have done a week ago, so baby steps!)

Nick bringing up Markoplier like he's not talking about the OF Mark just dropped 😂 Didn't know about the Linus Tech Tips plans, it sounds really sick. I wonder if they'll be doing anything similar to what Gamer Nexus does, or if it's more peripherals rather than components?
@StreamRoom Жыл бұрын
I heard him joking about it but I didn't think it was something he actually did? haha And in regards to LTT yes I believe their plan is to do components as well, but I am unsure to the extent. But for example they will be hardcore testing PSU's in ways Gamers Nexus cant because of some crazy expensive machine they bought and also testing things like CPU coolers and Fans etc.
@hammotimee Жыл бұрын
@@StreamRoom Oh yeah it's real, I mean, I've been told... by a friend... That's cool! Will be great to see the comparisons between their testing methods and Steve's, gotta say some mornings I'll just sit and watch a 40 minute video while tech Jesus talks about all the different graphs for parts I'll never buy or use hahah

Look, Ludwig was a good streamer... But anyone actually pushing for him to be their Creator of the Year is blinded by "BOIS", or didn't watch the Stream Room this year...

Great episode as always. Question: How do you build a community with your viewers (specifically on YT) WITHOUT opening a Discord server? Keen to know how others have built that sense of community without pushing their viewers to another "community platform"

Very early into the pod so far, but Eljay when you mentioned people hitting themselves with eggs for 5 subs it reminded me of my biggest pet peeve in content creation, and something that every creator seemingly does I find. I understand why they do it, I get the vast majority love it, but I cannot stand it. I am talking about challenge content. I have never found any joy watching challenge content. I know I’m the extreme minority, but I feel like it pulls away from the narrative of content way too much and something about it irks me at my base levels in a way I can’t properly explain. Streamers, KZbinrs, and etc I love to watch; as soon as they pull out a bean boozle or spicy chip I have to click off. The same can be said for the “I am beating RDR2 BUT only with a varmint rifle”. It appeals zero to me, and I have no idea why. This kinda bleeds into a question I’ve been wanting to ask the pod guys for a bit though. How much stock do you all put into your viewers as a whole. When making your content do you purposely avoid doing certain things because you know you never want to be stuck in a position where people expect something weekly from you like that? My example being challenge content. Are challenge content makers doing it because they enjoy it or because people expect it from them?

Another amazing podcast guys! I wonder if anyone can help me. I'm having trouble exporting my shorts from Premier Pro to KZbin. (might be my export settings) it's sending it to KZbin as a normal video not as a Short. i'm having to export the file and send in to Join Combo then send it to KZbin to get recognised as a short. I've tried putting #Short in the file name to see if that worked. hope i've explained this ok i'm Dyslexic AF 😅

Under 60 seconds, 1080 by 1920 canvas so its vertical, and export it as "Matching Sequence Settings - High bitrate" then see if it works. Sometimes changing the settings can cause the canvas to break, so YT won't recognise it as the correct format.
@SAVINGSONNY Жыл бұрын
@Stream Room sweet, I have a work space set up for TikTok and shorts on premiere so it's vertical. But I'll try the export settings that you said. Appreciate your help thanks guys 👍
