I was still 11 years old when the 1964-65 New York World Fair opened, living in Laguna Canyon. I would turn 12 in October. I was so excited about the fair even though I knew I'd never see it. I requested the ViewMaster reels from the fair for Christmas (which I still have), but there were only two photos of Disney's work. They were both from Ford's Magic Skyway: cavemen and dinosaurs. That was better than nothing, but I had also seen the episode of "The Wonderful World of Color," where Walt went into great detail about the attractions that WED was creating. The most exciting idea was that these attractions would be coming to Disneyland, a half-hour car ride away! I remember the construction of the huge building along the Santa Fe & Disneyland Railroad that would become the Primeval World. I remember the construction of what would be It's a Small World, although the only way to get a "close-up" look was from the Railroad train. The Carousel of Progress would be introduced in the 1967 expansion and renovation of Tomorrowland. It was hard to believe that some of the best attractions in Tomorrowland were now FREE! I was FURIOUS when the Carousel of Progress was moved to Magic Kingdom, which at the time, might as well have been on the far side of the moon. It wouldn't be until 1988 before I saw it again, with the theme song, "Now is the Time," which of course I hated! Little did I know in 1988, that in just 2 1/2 years, my employer would relocate me, and some of my coworkers to Orlando, Florida! The first thing I did was purchase an annual pass. In 1993 the original song, "There's a Great Big, Beautiful Tomorrow" was restored, and the name was changed to "Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress." As much as I loved It's a Small World, The Primeval World, and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, The Carousel of Progress was my favorite attraction to come from the 1964-65 New York World Fair.

So Dallin, I’ve been watching the channel for quite a while now (around 1,000 subs I think, maybe more though), and I’ve seen you mention and put clips of your interview with Rolly Crump in some of your other videos. But, I don’t think you’ve ever said how or why you got to have such and amazing experience (or what’s more likely is you probably did and I just missed it or something). Anyways I was just curious about how you got to meet one of the greatest imagineers ever. Also on a side note, I absolutely love this channel, and you are probably my favorite KZbinr. I’ve always loved your content, but in my personal opinion, you have been doing a lot of Disneyland lately, which is totally fine, but it’d be cool if you could throw in some WDW videos and videos about the movies too (I think focusing more on the parks is fine too though). Really I guess what I’m trying to say is I’d like it if you threw a little more WDW vids into the mix, and maybe even some non-USA parks like Disney Sea in too, I just feel like this would fit into the reason you changed the channel name a while ago. You are still an amazing KZbinr though, and this is your channel, so who am I to tell you what to do. The main point of this comment was mainly just to ask about Rolly, I just thought I’d share some of what I was thinking. Keep up the good work though Dallin!

I don't know how bleeding from the chest would recreate Lincoln's assassination, as he was actually shot in the back of the head. Fun fact: Robert Moses was also the man who was probably more responsible than anyone else for the Brooklyn Dodgers moving to Los Angeles. He was one of the most powerful men in NYC during the 50s and 60s, and he had pretty much complete control over what got built there and what didn't. When Walter O'Malley asked him to help the Dodgers build a new field in Brooklyn, Moses refused because he already had plans for the land parcel that O'Malley wanted. Moses offered O'Malley the field that would eventually become Shea Stadium (located in Flushing Meadows, where the 1964 World's Fair was actually held), but O'Malley refused on the basis that the field would be built in Queens, and he wanted to Dodgers to remain true to their name by having any new stadium located in Brooklyn. It was only after O'Malley realized he was going nowhere with Moses and Horace Stoneham told him of his plans to move the Giants that he decided to move the Dodgers west.
