What we got to see is how we do with both distributions! Let's say .65 TSLY and .35 CRHS! I would love that!

Funny, I mentioned that on your last video! Thanks for this video. Personally, I think it is best to own TSLY, CRSH and TSLA! Then if you buy enough TSLA (100k or so) then slowly sell off 5% monthly in a year which becomes 60% gain (5% x 12 months = 60%) and is equal to TSLY 60%/yr income without NAV erosion. Hopefully with growth you can have a tri-point Tesla success. Growth+Dividends

It's simple...just run a drip calculator. So far, both positive...there were a few weeks both were negative. We will need six months to see a better trend.

You can squeeze out an extra couple percent of return by going 52/48 TSLY/CRSH, with an almost imperceptible increase in volatility.

Because both funds write covered calls it means that the upside is limited to the strike price and the downside is unlimited a lot of money will be lost if there is a big movement in the price of TSLA.

Owning these two funds would result in essentially an inverted strangle. I don't think its a good play. You never want to open a position as an inverted strangle. TSLA would need to stay within both sides of the strikes to make the most money. The strikes are the short calls on TSLY and short put on CRSH. This strategy would have both upside and downside risk but the upside is a higher premium collected and a wider break even zone. Generally, I dislike delta neutral strategies since the market has a bullish bias. TSLY already has some downside protection from the short calls.

I like the 50/50 idea of CRSH/TSLY, but if you do it you should already own a bunch TSLY and CRSH would counter the loss of capital. If you don't own either and buy 50/50 then you don't believe in the underlying to begin with, so it wouldn't make since to invest in the TSLY side of it.

I do currently holding 100 shares of each, I believe to DRIP it back and keep the cost low will make them a win win, but who knows, time will tell!

What if we did a value averaging approach and say buy $1000 dollar of Tsly and $1000 of Crsh, always keeping bit at $1000 each, so if Tsly goes up to say $1100 and Crsh goes down to $900, take $1000 from Tsly and put it in Crsh and keeping them even and just collect the 55% dividends? Didn’t backtest this but would like to know the outcome.

Im just wondering if we buy the same amount of TSLY and CRSH, could we get stable nav and more than 30% yield at the same time?

The issue I see is that you probably need to rebalance base on NAV quite often, share count will be useless over time.

What do you think of something like BITO and BITI?for capital flat with a larger IV?
@bobdavis7290
@bobdavis7290 Ай бұрын
yes to BITO all day. Do the research: read the prospectus, understand the mid and short term Futures tactic, look at the share price and dividend history. BITO is a winner. I have 750 shares BITO, and after the spot bitcoin SEC approval this past January, BITO is climbing in share price and dividend payout monthly = winner.

No good, the inerse dividend is too low for it to work. The reason the TSLA sandwich works is because of the high yield.
@bobdavis7290
@bobdavis7290 Ай бұрын
@@nomad74777 You're not doing the math, nomad. High Yield happens either because the dividend jumps, or the share price falls. If one is stable then it's the others fault. And think on this, if TSLY weren't such a failure, CRSH wouldn't have to show up.

Buy Tesla stock and sell your own covered calls. 100 shares of Tesla will make you $75 a $ 150 a week, approximately. Multiply that by 4 and you’ll make $300 - $600 a month. Depends on how far out of the money you go and timeframe, of course. I go about 5% - 7% out and I can get between $.75 and $1.5 for my contract price. Example: today you could’ve sold for this Friday expiration and made $68 on a $200 strike, 7% out of the money or sold next Friday’s $200 strike, 7% out of the money and made $215. I sell covered calls on all the shares I own for every company I own. It is a far better return than owning a high divvy ETF. IMO lol I hope everyone has great success and returns.

@celestial_sphere3 Ай бұрын
@@radiantcarpets depends which YM fund you own I guess, but as far as TSLY is concerned, total returns since inception has been negative. Collecting distributions is useless if the NAV drops more than the total distribution received. The only two organizations that are laughing to the bank in such a scenario is the IRS and YM

@radiantcarpets
@radiantcarpets Ай бұрын
@@celestial_sphere3 Yup. Only a handful hasn't suffered nav erosion so better pick the right horse. If the underlying tanks due to whatever reason then the faster you bail the less you'll suffer. The inverse funds such as CRSH is going to be a game changer on the subject we're discussing. You're very correct the brains at YM sure know how to make money but now they're going to help us not loose money with their innovation of inverse funds.
