As a health worker, I worked with terminally ill AIDS patients in the 80s.. At that time there were still some grey areas about transmission, which I admit made the job stressful at times. I remember getting sick with flu like symptoms during that time and of course you become concerned. I even got tested during one of these episodes and waiting for the results was incredibly traumatic. Now i find that the disease was likely not a transmissable disease and all the stress at the time avoidable If we were told the truth.

No, as a health care worker, he or she could have been doing things like bathing the patient, changing bedding, assisting to the toilet, applying salve or providing massage. We don’t know what the work entailed from that comment. The patients usually took the pills prescribed, and it didn’t sound from the comment that the task was merely making prescriptions.
