The thing is that when you dissolve Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina into separate countries they will not do industry focuses until 1939, that’s how they’re programmed to do. But if you do a united Croatia and united Bosnia and Herzegovina they will do industry focuses immediately

a few things: puppeting hungary and bulgaria still works, and you can gain all of their cores. also, splitting bosnia and croatia makes them less likely to choose industrial focuses earlier, however in the long term, it's usually better to

If you do the dissolve foci you want a subcountry with at least two sectors or else the industry focuses will be done last. If the subcountry has at least two it will be doing industry very quickly.

Helpful tip about the hoi4 ai we have found if you keep the nation's from Yugoslavia together like Croatia they have higher likely hood to their industry focus but if you split them they tend to them a lot later

Been watching all your Hoi4 videos and just love that your also a Grand Battleplan enjoyer, if you want to be extra spicy with entrenchment, then build infantry tanks with Dozer Blades, (Unlocked with Level 2 Engineers) these blades stack, meaning every different tank model that's in a division, it increases the entrenchment by 1, so if you have Light Tank Recon, Flame Tank Support, Self Propelled Guns, Self Propelled Anti Air, and even Base Tanks, that's 5 or more extra entrenchment level, this also stacks with Engineers. Go even further with Grand Battleplan, Elevated Engineer Corps, Static Warfare, and if you have a Defensive Field Marshal, you can make him an Entrenchment Specialist, which also stacks with all of the above. Quite easy to get over 100% entrenchment, becoming an absolutely insane wall, can even be done without air support thanks to the AA support.

Adding to this, single state countries are hardcoded to wait until 1939 to take industry focuses. That's why you release a united Bosnia.

A quick thing to add for when you desolve your nation is that the ai takes the industrial path if it has more than one state. Case in point, Slovenia having 3 states went down the industrial path while divided Croatia having one state went down the naval tree.

I don't remember the details, but 1 state nations are indeed hard coded to avoid the industry focuses for as long as possible. They will eventually complete the industry focuses, but it may be 2-3 in-game years before the 1-state nations complete industry focuses.

Tip: you could have saved the game each time you are about to release your land as puppets then load back until you get a save in which the go for construction and you could have a broken amount by the end

02:52 splitting croatia and bosnia is a mistake, if you do that they usually wont start industry focuses up until 1939, but if you leave them whole they start doing them right away. i did multiple tests myself, and one of your fellow content creators confirmed in his video.

The Yugoslavian front is so massively underrated in history, everyone talks about the eastern front and the Landing on Normandy But the resistance and fight the Yugoslavians put against us Germany (for the most part) is unbelievable I would say they were the best preforming compared to how much they were supported, the initial invasion put very small numbers on both the axis and Yugoslavia, but when Croatia was put on control of the region the numbers started getting so high due to guerilla fighting, ethnic cleansing and executions committed by the Ustasha, they were so horrible and went too far even nazi Commanders and Wehrmacht generals protested their actions and told them they were going too far, eventually Yugoslavia suffered half a million military deaths alone, more than what the french and British suffered even with accounting their subjects and colonies and as well as the USA

just in the initial war against Yugoslavia (April War) the nazis documented that they captured over 300k yugoslavian soldiers as prisoners of war so in total the military deaths number is way higher than people normally think.

You can also go down brown ideology, release everyone except Vojvodina and Banat, take reinforce old alliance and axis interest. After the civil war you can pick up allied one. You get insane stability and pp gain.

splitting up croatia and bosnia is actually bad because ai countries with the default focus tree will only do their industrial branch after 1938 (so 1939 onwards) IF they only control one state thats why slovenia (who has 2 states) did their industrial tree, whereas the croatian and bosnian states didnt straight away

Fun fact I’m ethically northern Macedonian because my uncle from my moms side left the kingdom of Yugoslavia which was dismounted in 1959 Tito took control in 1947 or 1948 I believe Also should mention during communist regime the king still held a degree of power under communist socialist republic of Yugoslavia so we had a cursed kingdom of Communism and had a king communist.
