The Zeiss 135mm F/2.8 Batis Lens Review /// The SHARPEST 135mm Prime For SONY??

Ummmm it looks a nice lens, I have the 135 1.8 G master on my A9 and to say the zeiss is the best prime to buy for action due to its AF performance... i'd like to see it best the 135 G master lol Also, the tamron 70-180 2.8 in my opinion almost makes this lens redundant aside from IS but you get so much versatility... I'd also find it hard to believe it is sharper than the 135 g master, with it being arguably the sharpest lens money can buy. For the money either pay a bit more for the 135 1.8 g master or get the tamron 70-180 which is an outstanding lens itself Cool vid though, i enjiy your work on the channel bud

I'd like to see - in my opinion almost - find it hard to believe ... well, I really _used_ this lens, my exemplar at least was lighter, easier to be handled and sharper at >= 2.8 as the sony lens (which I posessed and sold). Anyway - a Zeiss Batis 135/2.8 you carry with you is always better than an 1.8 G-Master slumbering at home...

If you have the Sony A9, you will not see a big difference, I have the Sony A7RIVA and with the high megapixels then you can see a difference and you will NEVER again want a zoom Lens !!!

I have the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM which is an excellent Lens with outstanding image quality, BUT it weighs 950g, the Zeiss is only 614g ! I rarely use larger aperture than 2.8, most of the time I use aperture 4.0 to 5.6, more uncommon 2.8 or 8.0, so the Zeiss will be OK for me, the Zeiss also have the advantage of the OSS in te Lens, there are two downsides with the Zeiss Lens, no aperture ring (which I use ALL the time !) and no AF/MF button. I just got the Voigtländer Macro APO-Lanthar 110mm 2.5, so I do not need the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM that much anymore, but I am tempted to swap it for the Zeiss.

Zeiss did lack vision on this, You can’t release a 135 2.8 prime on these times when 70-200 2.8 zoom are outstanding. It should have been at least f2. Love my 40, and 85 but having the tamron 70-180 it will be so redundant. This beautiful lens has become just a collective item .

not really. against the 70-180mm f2.8 the batis still has far better IQ. also the Tamron has far more glass elements which reduces contrast. It boils down to: contrast (and microcontrast), colour reproduction, weight and distortion for the Zeis, and versatility for the Tamron.

well big losing point is just the 2.8 aperture, wish CZ would come with a 135mm f1.8 for the Sony FE
