20:29 I really appreciate the time you take to walk us through these details. And, to answer a question you posed in your video about hunting down a vibration (driveshaft), In fine watching the entire process, tightening nuts and all. Better for viewers to fast forward than miss something a seasoned mechanic might take for granted!

That's great feedback, thank you! I'd gotten away from the fast forwarding in late videos, so I'll look at how I'm filming and editing going forward to be the most helpful.

Outstanding video and presentation. Thank you.

Glad you enjoyed it! I'm hoping I don't get too much backlash from engineers that point out where I'm technically wrong... Anyway, the idea is to help people understand it a little better. Hopefully more of these carbs are preserved instead of set on a shelf.

@@midwestmotoring I have at least a dozen MGB carbs (both Zenith and SU early and HFs) I'm going to tackle this spring.

really appreciate the "laymans terms" explaination

I'm sure some of it's technically incorrect, but I'll let a physicist or an engineer fill in those blanks. Thanks for watching!

Great explanation! I've been looking into constant depression/variable venturi carburetors since Mitsubishi also used the same style in the Lancer/Mirage series up until the late 90s. The Mitsubishi model is however down-draft (sits on top of the manifold like a Weber) instead of side-draft. Is there any possible drawback to that? Thanks!

I suppose I misspoke. I guess they were able to revise the float bowls and manifolds sufficiently. Were the carbs completely horizontal, or just on an angle? Angled installations were done, such as on the Triumph Stag, but true horizontal would have seen oil leaking out of the dashpots unless there's a revision I'm not aware of.

Glad you like it! I probably spend a little too much time in forums telling people I'll never meet that they don't need Webers, so this was a natural follow up....
