Following Chris’s suggestions for treating zinc deficiency (10 mg every 4-5 hours) relieves my social anxiety/irritability. It works quickly, but I really need to stay on top of it. I will also get a few warts on my hands if I don’t get enough zinc for several days. The improved social confidence is very significant, so I’m pretty sure it’s activating testosterone receptors (which Chris has talked about in other videos). I don’t find the zinc taste test to be reliable. But Spectracell testing caught my deficiencies in zinc, selenium and calcium. I suspect that zinc deficiency is often under-treated, because just taking a single large pill isn’t always an effective treatment. I really do need small doses throughout the day (I use lozenges, so in my case there may be oral absorption as well).

Thank you Chris. Very detailed, excelent information. Chris what do you think about liquid chlorophyll? It claims 4 mg of copper in one serving. Should it be considered as a copper supplement? Do you think it would be effective raising copper in the body?

Chris never answered the 1st question completely. I'm at 14:00 in the video ..and Chris is moving on to the next question. The 1st question asked if a person has to use the Serum Zinc value ..instead of the Plasma Zinc value ..when calculating the Zinc to copper ratio ..since Copper is in Serum ..not plasma. I SURE AS HECK WISH CHRIS WOULD HAVE TALKED ABOUT THIS A LITTLE BIT. I wonder the same thing ..and after 14:00 minutes of this video ..still wondering.

I've had my zinc checked 2 different ways. Zinc RBC - 22.31 (9-14.7 quest diagnostics), followed up with serum zinc - 67 (60-106 hospital lab). That's confusing, but 2 different labs, and I have a tricky bone marrow history (relatively low rbcs and macrocytic). Serum copper was 107. Should I get a plasma zinc done? Would this be considered zinc deficient? I'm assuming it is. You said a high copper to zinc ratio isn't causative of anything, but in terms of preventing disease and managing the brain fog / gut issues / fatigue that i experience, maybe there's something in this.

Plasma zinc should be 90-120 and deficiency gets near around 70-75. See chrismasterjohnphd.com/cheatsheet

@Chris Masterjohn, PhD thanks. I'm about to start a masters program in humait's nutrition and functional medicine. I believe it's the new frontier, and it will be useful in my own gut and health issues. Having a primary care doctor that thinks this way though is challenging.

If your Serum Zinc was 67 ..then your Plasma Zinc would be around 77. I had my Serum Zinc taken by Quest ..then Plasma Zinc by Labcorp 2 weeks later. The video by Felix Harder called ' Walsh Protocol Review ..is a fantastic video. I learned more than i can even say with that video. And even in that video you can see the bottom range value for Serum Copper is 70 ..and for Plasma Zinc it's 90. What Chris says in this video above is misleading. ..and it's the first thing i've known Chris Masterjohn to be wrong about. Your Plasma Zinc should be 90 ..but your Serum Copper should not be 90 ..but more like 70. Zinc and Copper measure about 10 numbers lower in Serum. AS completely obvious in Felix Harder's Walsh Protocol video.

What could explain low zinc plasma (around 70) and high RBC zinc (154) ?
@miketermaaten264 ай бұрын
Because of this comment i think i will be getting my Zinc RBC tested. I go to see my doctor in 2 days. Will be adding Zinc RBC to the list of Labcorp tests. My plasma zinc is around the same as yours.

🌝My suspicion is that Chris is wrong on zinc picolinate malabsorption, I also get low side effects from zinc picolinate, yet it has dramatic effects on my libido & seeds 💅🤭this antidote is in line with utilised zinc..

Copper is easy as hell to keep up. Zinc on the other hand gers leeched from the body constantly. Caffeine,.sugar, stress, exercise suck zinc out in droves. Ratio and absolute plasma amounts seem very important..but zinc should be alot more than zinc

The question then, gutten what you've said, is how to measure the trapped zinc saturation in the whole body.

Some people (me included) like as much detail as possible. He has shorter series on nearly every supplement (Chris Masterjohn Lite), which you can find in his playlist. That series was specifically created for people who don't have time. Also, I recommend listening to everything at 2x speed. You'll consume twice as much information.

@@Bambotb People have different goals and styles. Thus, this is why he created the Chris Mastejohn Lite series for people who just want a short video with bulletpoints and essentials. I totally get when your life gets so busy that you barely have any focus on time on anything, you just want to get it over with. Myself, I prefer more information when I have motivation and time for it. It does help me to understand something on a more fundamental level and with more nuance. There's no way that will fit everybody's needs and wants.
