Thank you Rachel, another lovely project. I really like the fact that these challenges are ‘inspired by’ the theme which gives you leeway to be inspired, not be rigid in what we do. It lets your imagination soar. I found myself frantically looking for gothic patterns in my papers,very unlikely, and then stopped and thought ‘inspired by’ that’s the thing not necessarily authentic gothic patterns and my mood immediately lifted and my creativity returned. 😁Loving this hundred day challenge, the beautiful lace journal cover may have to wait until I get courage up but the rest is flowing easily. I wonder if you realise how precious you and Sarah are in these difficult times. I also include the other wonderful crafters that spend their time and energy producing inspiring videos that help us stay sane, we are a truly blessed group. 💕💕💕💕💕to you all.

Ravens, crows and jays are corvids and are super intelligent birds. We had family of crows living in the neighborhood for years, a mom, and 3 babies. The babies were a bunch of boisterous clowns, constantly fussing and squawking at each other. If one wasn’t paying attention and got left behind when the others took off, oh my goodness, it would raise a ruckus until mom came and got it. They stayed together for two or three years before they went their separate ways. We miss them. 🤣

I also love Her kits and be haps they look expensive when you just see the price but when you see how much you gets and how versatile they are, the price is very good I have so much difficulties to choose from all her kits...they are all SO beautiful 😍 I sew her videos but haven’t tried the method but I will absolutely try. I always dry my papers in own because the weather is so cold her. Hi hun, when I saw the thumbnail for this video and saw, Raven, Gothic, I was intrigued and was wondering if you were doing an Edgar Poe theme...so what a lovely surprise that you were using my kits. It blew me away. Thank you so much and for every lovely mention, my heart was melting and is still melting by your heartwarming words. I feel so blessed by your kindness, Rach. Thank you so much for everything. I think you did a super job of this challenge, putting a Rachel spin on Gothic with those butterflies and flowers, which I love. I am not into dark gothic either but I do love ravens and crows because they are so intelligent and such characters and that one you chose was perfect. I love ravens and crows, too. They are very intelligent. When I moved to the country after my son grad'd HS, I had a crow for a friend. He flew over every time I came outside, and I greeted him with goodies and hello, Mr. Crow -- let me tell you how to win bets every single time in how to tell the difference between a raven and a crow -- it has to be in flight (and you can say it wouldn't be fair on the ground because ravens are larger than crows) -- crows can't glide, they can only flap their wings -- so if they glide at all during flight -- it's a raven -- and you can't go by their call, because they can imitate other species, including humans. I'm old and decrepit now and had to move back to the city to be near the hospital and my drs., but I sure miss my little cottage in the country -- I tell you this all the time, I love your channel name -- be well, Patricia

LOve how this turned out, I think I need to get some of Jaff s papers so gorgeous. I did want to mention that Idea Times Two just recently did a tutorial on how to get the perfect lace imprint on Dyed paper. I was so happy because I love it, I won some from the Book Vandal shop, but just cant be buying it as often as I would like. Hope that helps and I will be checkking out the easy and quick tea dying with Jaff. Thanks a bunch for all the inspiration. Gayle, Amy, Tina and myself all rip up our papers and when we collage, there are times I cut them straight or do a mix of both, really anything goes. It’s fun that you and your sister have different methods, adds to the fun of variety. I love the pockets they are some of my favorites to make.

This is something I have done in an altered book, but I haven’t translated that to a journal yet. What a fun idea!!! I love your use of the raven!!! I would never think to use a raven focal point (unless I was doing a gothic themed journal perhaps), but I really love it!!! I went hunting for the paper you used to create the pockets from Medieval Mirage because I fell in love with it lol. I found it in Vol 5-Eclectic Essence-The Bohemian, but while looking I was reminded at how much I love Jarf’s kits!!! At this stage, I only have a couple, but I need to work towards adding to that lol. TFS!!! I tried Jarf’s paper staining method and, sadly, the ink from my printer didn’t shift (even though its an Epson EcoTank. So I’m going to try a couple of more ideas lol. Fingers crossed. Poe lived in Richmond for a long time, and there's a statute of Poe in the capital grounds that I have to walk by when I go to my dr's office, and all the time, it's so weird, there are ravens either in nearby trees or sitting on his shoulder -- this came out great -- I've been printing a lot on tea-dyed paper -- not Jarf's method because I have no plastic doilies -- but it comes out really cool -- exactly like today's project -- ravens are wonderfully, intelligent birds and you nailed this theme ! Well done, you !! (Tell Lulu she's not the only one who waits for lunch/dinner -- all we do is eat -- my son has one of those wall projectors, and today we watched Return of the King (one of my fav movies) and I watched this after that, so the gothic theme was so cool --
