I'm normally not a huge fan of ocean/beach themes (I love the real thing more)... but this turned out really nice. I love the art nouveau pocket and the pelicans. Oh and the tag with the girl! I think because it was vintage looking I liked it more... somehow things look better when they're vintage.

I was just reading an article in an older Cloth Paper Scissors magazine about Seth Apter and his collage techniques class. The article explains 5 of his techniques for collage- overlapping, outlining, repeating, contrasting and guiding (guiding the viewer's eye along the page). I know you don't really do outlining of your focal points- but often you do outline the page. I think that is why I enjoy watching you so much- you use all these in your daily collage technique as well!!

Really enjoyed this! I used to collect shells when I was a child. My mother was a hairdresser and her clients used to bring them to me from their vacations. I had all of the ones you used, and many corals as well. I also used to draw them.

Like these....in Mississippi and Louisiana we have brown pelicans similar to your pictures. In Wisconsin, we have started to have white pelicans visit in the summer. They can be so comical.

I love this. I love the ocean 8 was born on LopeIsland in Pudget Sound. The sea air and salty smells of the ocean is a big part of me. It's in y blood. Once an ilsander always lslander. When I smell the ocean I'm home !!!
