When sitcoms bring in big stars in for guest appearances they are always some regular character's parent or uncle etc. And then add some texture and mega star quality to the show. But the writers on this bring in a mega star to add something to the storyline and combine a slice of the movie Its A Wonderful Life' . Fresh Prince had great writing and acting and was a big hit so no surprise the amount of great stars the show had. So it was a big deal whenever big stars would appear on a tv show, especially a sitcom which says a lot about the greatness and popularity of sitcoms like Fresh Prince, Married with Children, Living Single, Seinfeld, Golden Girls etc. to get such talent to come on and have fun.
