My first figure was from this series too, it was the explorer. My mother picked me up from school and handed me the pack, and I was surprised at how small it was (I'd only seen renders online at this point and thought they were the size of a gummy bag.) In the early days, these things were actually a bit hard to find. The only store that sold them where I lived was Borders. How it's been 14 years since then is beyond me.

If you wanted to do builds, you could pair them up, like you mentioned with the witch and vampire. Like the gladiator and the pharoah in an arena or the karate and weight lifter in an mma ring. Not sure why I gravitated to spectator combat, but you could def build a funny one with the witch and the vampire having a sitcom living room.
