Own both the Tract and ZCO myself. I've had the Tract for over a year and I can honestly say its right up there with some of the best of them for a fraction of the cost. Certainly worth the buy and the owners Jon and Jon are great to deal with. Great review.

HI Sean! Thanks for the perspective and I have to agree with you 100%. The only thing I wish was that they had made the reticle a bit thicker, like the ZCO's, but other than that, it's very close glass wise with my older eyes. Thanks for watching my friend!

Absolutely love this review! I've had a Tract for a couple years now and have loved it. However, I decided to buy a ZCO because of how many people said the glass was more superior than most other scopes. I wanted to have the best equipment to give me the best chance of success. I have liked the ZCO very much, but I still loved the reticle and the turrets better on my Tract. And, In my opinion and untrained eye, I really can't tell that much of a difference in glass quality. Not to mention the Trigger Cam (which I have also) is much easier to mount on the Tract. I've been considering selling my ZCO and buying two more Toric's! This video may have helped me make up my mind! Thanks for a great review! I also have a couple competition video's using the Toric with my Trigger Cam on my channel if you'd like to check them out.

HI Dennis 435! Man, thanks so much for the kind words! I totally agree with you and the only thing I would say is that I like the thicker reticle on the ZCO, but that hasn't impacted me much at all on the Toric. Glass wise, yeah, I'm an older guy and agree that the glass is very similar on both. TOTALLY agree with the TriggerCam statement and wish they had made that thing a bit bigger since I'm really scratching up that ZCO. I'll check out your video for sure and thanks for watching my friend!

Great review. The Tract Toric ELR offers a good value for mid priced optics and is a nice alternative to tier 1 scopes at around half the price and less. I do own a Tract Toric ELR and Athlon Cronus BTR but prefer my March scopes which aren't mass produced and are hand assembled with meticulous individual attention and each and every single one of them are actually tested by a human before they are even boxed up. I really think March scopes are the only brand of scopes that are really worth paying full price for.

Tract offers 15% off for law enforcement and military personnel and have sales once to twice a year for 10% off during December and $100 off this past August. I am really looking forward to buying a Vortex Razor 3 6-36x56 as soon as the next shipment arrives and hopefully they addressed the turret issues but at least I know that Vortex will send an expedited prepaid shipping label so there's no out of pocket shipping expense to have the turrets improved.

Nice comparison and review! I have a Venom on my .22 PRS/NRL rifle and I am trying to decide if/what I should upgrade to. I've been thinking Toric or Gen III Razor. The Toric is very tempting, but I'm having a real tough time getting past the height of the turrets, though the feel and clicks are pretty good. Having played a bit with a Gen III also I can say they do seem to have fixed the turret issues on them but my comparison is to a Venom so take that with a grain of salt lol.

Hi Magic! So, just to be open and honest here, I have gone back to the Razor Gen III on both my Centerfire and .22LR competition guns. I do LOVE the Toric and I actually like the turrets the best out of any I've used (they are a bit 'quiet', but very tactile). My reasoning is that while I ran a ZCO for my centerfire rifle, my eyes are bad enough to where even THAT glass doesn't help me spot trace or even some misses, so I decided to re-visit the Gen III (see my initial review, which was not favorable) when Eurooptic had a great sale on them...Got one, tried it and they have fixed everything that I said was wrong in that video. So I decided to standardize on it for both comp rifles. I am keeping the Toric as my backup scope for both, which to me, still says a lot about my confidence in it. I think however for .22LR, either scope is great. Thanks for watching and commenting my friend!

The Tract Toric ELR (regularly priced at $1694) is currently on sale at Tract Optics for $1440 until December 11 2022 during their 15% off sale. It's a better alternative compred to the Athlon Cronus BTR.

Hey Common Sense! I just shot the 22LR PRS Nationals and although I didn't shoot well, I can tell you that my TRACT Toric performed flawlessly. I'm still so impressed with this scope and agree that for that price, for Schott glass, you can't beat it.

Im running the Primary arms platinum w/Athena reticle. I really like the Chevron for precision shot placement. I like being able to "lollipop" with the Chevron, I just find it easier to be precise when aiming. Also it does have .1mil subtensions, but only between the 2-3mil markings, I'm assuming so the reticle isn't so busy. I don't find it hard to shoot without the .1mil subtensions. Each mark is .2mil, so middle of them is .1.. it's not perfect, but i also haven't come across a scope that is. Another positive is that Primary arms is local. The first platinum 6-30 I got was actually defective and was worse than not tracking. I believe something was loose because my dope was changing from one day to the next lol. I shot my first match with it and couldn't hit anything, even my dope was wrong from shooting the day prior. found that the tracking was way off. It was a Sunday evening and I contacted Primary arms about the scope not tracking. They are out of stock until November (and this happened ~6 months ago) but luckily they had 1 at their warehouse that they hold onto specifically for situations like this. I had the scope exchanged with a functioning one in under 24hrs. Of finding out that it wasn't tracking, so experienced some great customer service which adds some piece of mind if you are considering going with a primary arms product.

@@The4GunGuyYou got it! Do you have any anecdotal experience with the Leupold Mark 5 HD? I’m looking at that, in the 5-25 with Pr2 reticle, the Vortex Rzr Gen 2, or the tract as you discussed. All have pros and cons
@The4GunGuy
@The4GunGuy Жыл бұрын
@@ChadCooper03 Any of those are really good scopes. I will say that the Leupold reticle is DIFFERENT in that each hash mark is .25 mils instead of the normal .2 mils, which, if using two different scopes for competition like I do (one for my centerfire and one for rimfire) and they are different makes (say vortex vs. Leupold), you may get confused when you're behind each one and have to think about which hash mark means what. The TRACT is a really nice scope for me and I've really come to love it. BUT, I will say that the reticle is a bit thin on the TRACT, even at my normal 12 - 16 magnification, it can take me a second to see it...I'm older, so it might just be me. Finally, when I owned it, I absolutely loved my Razor Gen II (NOT Gen III). I bought that scope for the EBR-7C reticle which I believe is still one of the best out there today. The glass was "good to very good" and the thing was built like a tank. A good problem to have my friend as each one would be a good choice!

@@The4GunGuy If this was the 3rd product that this had happened on I would agree. But when I called they just said yes sir I'll send a label sent your way. Alot of companies would say what problem the scope works fine. But in 4 min I had a over night return label in my email. From what I'm hearing the next large batch that hits the states will have a engineering update to fix the issue. Now this time next year we still have new scopes hitting the streets with mushy turrets and that don't lock up that will be a issue. Every company will have a new product issue from time to time. But how they fix that issue is what I look at. To many people like to bash Vortex bc it's the cool thing to not like them. But not many companies support the sport like they do and no one beats there customer service.

Hi LaMarvin! Well, to ME, the Gen III was a "good" scope, but it didn't live up to all the hype of being a Tier 1 competitor. Certainly not up there with my ZCO glass wise. The mushy turrets that I'd have had to send the scope in to get fixed really upset me...You just don't release a scope like that to the public. And finally, having to adjust the parallax for distance changes of 100 yds all the time was the final straw for me (again, that could have been because of my own eyes, but I don't have to do that on my ZCO or this Toric). Comparison to the Toric? I'd go with the Toric every time...Now, that's just ME for MY eyes. Thanks for watching my friend!
