I am growing in an outbuilding with limited power. I also grow there in winter when it is very cold. (I live in Canada on the Alaska Highway) I have lights on at night for that reason as well. Keeps it cooler in the summer and helps heat the building at night in winter when it is coldest. I have limited means to control the environment so I work with what I’ve got. Thanks Scotty.

Great tips Scotty, really solid. I had the same thought about how good my salad growing was a few years ago and moved my "main crop" out of the house into a cheap greenhouse. I now use decent store-bought organic compost and tomato feeds. It cost me about 5~10% of yield per plant and nothing on quality over a year BUT I can grow more plants and the nutes were what I already use for my tomatoes and chillies, which makes them close to being free. Saved me well over a hundred pounds per crop and doesn't get me noticed by anyone. And sunlight is free... Love your channel, all the common sense and none of the BS.

Cook crushed eggshellls till golden brown, or use crushed oyster shells instead of the baking soda. This gives you co2, and the vinegar becomes water soluble calcium (the mother of all minerals). Mix @ .5 tbspn per gal and apply 1x wk during flower. Tomatoes love it too.

Me personally I run a solar setup to minimize my cost on electricity though its a big upfront cost that pays itself off after so long. Then i have a compost bin to help with the nutrient since i have a large amount of cardboard and plant material. Lol :) For the most part i alternate between using compost and grow dots. ^_^ then i use a cloner 90% of the time instead of seeds as ordering seeds can be fairly expensive from 5-10$ a seed so it saves money cloning. But my setup is honestly kinda weird as i have 3 2x2x4 flowering tents and 1 2x2x4 veg tent (theyre reinfornced and stacked for space saving). Lol keeps the harvest coming though ^_^

What lights are you running in your tents?
@skylilia269
@skylilia269 Ай бұрын
@TheflyingkiwiRC So I've been testing different configurations to see what works best for me. I run my lights fairly close to the plants so I don't run a lot of wattage. One flowering tent has 2 x100 wattage panels (its kinda over kill for a 2x2) all led. The heat levels stay higher in that tent so I had to make a little more of a exhaust on that one. Then all the others are running 100 watt leds various brands. The results are fairly similar. I run a rigged co2 contraption in two tents as a current test. Mainly a glass bottle (half gallon) with sugar, water and wine yeast. It does make a different in such small spaces. Took it from 400ppm to around 800-1000ppm when tent is sealed on the co2. The light usually stays between 700-1000ppfd depending on which tent. The 700 is the none co2 while the 1000 is for the co2. Currently still dialing all of it in. :) but it's part of the fun.

I got a tip that blew my mind. Instead of buy Co2, just light a little tea candles. You can get a pack of 100 for about $20 or less. Just burn 1 a day, and it exponentially increase the amount of Co2 in your grow space. When I do this I put it in one of those little ceramic melting pots. This keeps the flame contained so you don't burn anything down. Also, you would want to keep an eye on the temperature, because fire is hot (obviously). So it will make your grow space hotter.

@@mvb88 if you're just starting to grow cannabis... Do yourself a huge favor and do not plant ALL those seeds at once. More than likely they're regular seeds and will have male plants in with the females. One male can very easily be enough to pollinate ALL your females and please believe me... that is a mess. Seeds everywhere!! Exploding joints and bong hits!! Extra work for anyone smoking the harvest. Total pain in the....You get the point. Start as many seeds as you can humanly handle when you get to harvest. Trust me,if you have never grown before... harvest and curing is time and labor consuming. You're also going to need a temperature and humidity controllable space to dry in. Cannabis starts to decompose pretty soon after they are cut...so speed and organization is key. You need a setup for the flowers to dry almost immediately after you cut. Back to the seedlings...Only start as many as you can handle...then add 4-5 for every 10 you start. Usually the odds are about 15 regular seeds grow into 8-10 females if you are lucky. And you are going to lose some of them also... Seedlings die pretty easily if you aren't on them regularly. Strong Plants.... delicate seedlings. So now they're getting bigger...You have to watch for males and catch them at once!! If not, you will be sorry brother. Seedy Bud sucks. Don't pull them if they are all together...cut the males out of the bunch. Stems are strong as heck...use a sharp knife. Razor etc. Usually... Usually. Males are taller and skinnier than the females. Don't cut until you see the pollen sacks.(Balls... literally) When you are confident you got them ALL...take care of the females and they will take care of you. Read up,ask questions, talk to other growers...but have a plan for the harvest. Bring friends who will listen to you.. Don't let people just do whatever with your plants... you're going to be connected to the... they won't. Once you know what you want to do... have them help you exactly how you say.. Too much time and work and patience goes into your crop so you want to be in control. After they are hung up and drying... However you are going to curing the buds... prepare for it with enough jars or bags or whatever you are using,so that you aren't smashing everything in a jar too tight..they need to breathe to break down the chlorophyll properly.birp them often and religiously. Or you will have waited the whole time for garbage weed. Just prepare and get ahead of the game. Have a plan for everything. Surprises Do happen. I wish you all the best of luck!! Hope that helps.
