@OurTopPinLife

The chlorine tablets keep a consistent stream of chlorine in the pool. If you used the liquid chlorine alone, it would dissipate pretty quickly. The liquid chlorine is added for a big boost at once. The tabs help maintain that boost.

The higher the pH the more base it has the lower the pH the more acidic your water is. If you need to raise your pH meaning getting rid of or neutralizing your pH if it's 5 or 6 you need to raise it by adding BAKING SODA which is pH up! If your pool pH is too high like 9 which is too much base then you need to add acid or pH up which is Muriatic acid. Wear safety glasses do not breathe in fumes! Be careful add slowly and in small increments while pump is on never add any powders or granules that will settle on your liner you will ruin your liner. ALWAYS ADD A CHLORINE CONDITIONER OR YOUR CHLORINE WILL BE GONE DAILY THE SUN EATS UP THE CHLORINE UNLESS YOU HAVE ADDED A CHLORINE CONDITIONER TO PROTECT AND KEEP YOUR CHLORINE FROM Evaporating.

I do keep mine up year around. However, we live in the South and very very rarely see snow. We have had several freezes over the last few years, and we don't have a cover. I did drain it below the pump lines so my pump and hoses don't freeze. Once thawed the pool was still in great shape.

@OurTopPinLife
@OurTopPinLife 5 ай бұрын
First time filling, I would use the powder. Only because it is more potent. I usually use the liquid once the pool is established, ever 2nd or 3rd time I shock it. The liquid tends to be zapped quicker then the powder. Once we are in the heat of the summer, I only use powder because I need it to last longer.

My pool keeps getting green. I’ve been draining my pool and refilling it My question is when I fill the pool what should I add frist?
@OurTopPinLife
@OurTopPinLife Жыл бұрын
Most likely you will need to use PH down and shock it. Once you fill it, check your levels and add accordingly. If your pool keeps turning green, one of 2 things is happening. Your pump isn't sufficient for your size pool (if it is the one that comes with the pool, the aren't sufficient enough). OR you aren't shocking it and keeping enough chlorine in it. Those 2 things are crucial to keeping a pool clear.

@OurTopPinLife
@OurTopPinLife Жыл бұрын
Haha. Gotta move auto correct. Have you tested your water? It sounds like you need to shock it, like you said, run your pump all day after shocking, backwash your pump, then see what it looks like. If the water is still green, shock it again. If it clears up, you need to vacuum the bottom as the algae will settle. Then add an algacide and clarifier. During this process you need to run your pump 8-10 hours at a time, and bashwash after the 8-10 hours. This will ensure the filter stays clean and effective.
