The 75th Ranger Regiment

Күн бұрын

To our GWOT Veterans-if you feel today like it was all for nothing, know this:
Because of you, we have everything. Every opportunity, every chance to compete, and the same opportunity to arrive on the cutting edge of battle.
The word “service” has been so overused that the idea of our Rangers as servants to our Nation is hard to grasp; it comes in and out of focus. It feels abstract in the moment, yet in retrospect, it is crystal clear.
It’s not likely that those who came before us understood the impact they would have on the Ranger Regiment, the Army, and the Nation. There are no words that can repay or fully recognize their commitment to the Ranger creed, their fellow Rangers, and our Nation. They remain immortalized as our heroes, their service to us continues long after their tour of duty has ended.
Today, there is only one word to describe how we current Rangers feel on Veterans Day. Gratitude. We are grateful for those who chose this path, and through their service, not only fought for their Nation but also provided those in our ranks with something more.
It is through their service, those Veterans, that we have been offered the most unique opportunities to enter into a brotherhood where people expect us to be our best. We are grateful for those Veterans who challenged what was possible and in doing so created high standards. Standards that created a venue to struggle and achieve what may seem impossible. We owe thanks to those Ranger Veterans for leaving the Ranger Regiment in a better place, and paving the way for our next generations to live and work in a place that allows a similar experience-an experience that makes us better people, better spouses, better friends, better parents, better members of our community, and ultimately, better Rangers.
This is your day. We honor you daily on Cardiac and Noble Hill, on the back lonely stretches of Perimeter Road, on the range, in the gym, and in battle. It is you who still holds the torch that lights the path we follow. There are no words, so we offer instead our commitment of action to go further, faster, and fight harder than any other Soldier... just like you.
#veteransday

What did we the United States of America accomplish in Afghanistan 🇦🇫 or 🇮🇶 Iraq? We lost two wars, countless men and women dead, countless servicemen and women death by suicide. Taliban and ISIS have taken complete control. What’s there to be proud of? What difference do we make anywhere? Constant wars and military operations around the world that achieve nothing.

As a former RASP candidate and sadly enough not a ranger as of today. SFC Celiz holds a special place in my heart and mind. Seeing those final moments makes me proud to a least have been given the opportunity to try out for the 75th Ranger regiment and though I didn’t make it this time. I’m determined to make it on my next visit to those beautiful rocks, full pain, hardship, and motivated men and women. Celiz will always be my airborne ranger in the sky and I may not be a ranger as of this moment but that card will always be in my kit wherever I go.

Many of those servicemen who sacrifice thier life for the freedom of others are indeed amazing and remarkable.. my only prayers for those warriors who serve in the Armed Forces valiantly , that the govt has a plan for them to live a normal life .. many of them after thier tour are still homeless and living in the streets...i hope that the govt has a long term goal for them , including housing benefits , free medical insurance , and a scholarship for thier kids..that is the only way that we can pay wholeheartdly for all those sacrifice they've done..these battle weary men and women in uniform give thier life and thier best to the fullest in the name of service and to the country as well , we should repay them with honor , integrity , dignity , and respect.. and giving them hope to live a normal life they deserve...

Recognizing that i volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, i will always endeavor to hold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite Soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, i accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster anf fight harder than any other Soldier. Never shall i fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and i will shoulder my share of the task whatever it may be one-hundred percent and then some. Gallantly i will show the word that i am a specially select and well trained Soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for other to follow. Energetically i will meet the enemies of my country i shall defeat them on the field of battle for i am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will i ever embarrass my country. Readily will i display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I'll be the lone survivor. RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!!!!

Being an original Black Beret Alumni. Since the DoA brought back the Ole brown and pink Class A's from the 40s and 50s. It is my humble opinion that personnel assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment as Cadre/Instructor wear the original OG-107s cotton poplin ripstop (slant pocket) Jungle Fatigues while performing the duties of RI for Ranger School or Cadre for RASP or RSLC, etc. And while donning the original OG-107s P.C. your Full Color Ranger Tab and Rank (E6-WO5), White Thread Jump Wings (E0-E5), or 75th RR DUI (01+). What would really set them apart while in Garrison would be to instead of the OG-107 Olive Drab Jungle Fatigues, bring back the ERDLs from the Vietnam Era LRRP days. Not for actual war but just for the RI's and Cadre to wear while performing their duties as such. I think it's a great idea and a legitimate nod to our forefathers and the Rangers that built the foundation of what it is today. Hell, I bet Gen. Grange would be all on board with the idea. Or instead of going through all the trouble of a big re-issue of old kit you could allow ONLY the Cadre and RIs to wear the M81 Crye Precision G3 pants and Field Shirt (NOT Combat Shirt) with an "Old" OG-107 P.C. with their full color tab and aforementioned accoutrement while in Garrison working as a member of the 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th Ranger Training Battalions. Or as a Cadre member for the whole of the 75th Ranger Regiment (1st, 2d, 3d, STB, MIB). The 75th Ranger Regiment has always been the place for the Professional Special Mission Capable Infantryman it has evolved to be much more than. But in the past or even before 'my days' say in the 70-90s the RIs at the Ranger School and the Cadre of internal selections or different phases of the varieties of schools and courses they stood out from "Big Army" not only in skills and performance but just by looks you knew they were an RI or Cadre of the 75th Ranger Regiment because their dress was not what everyone else was wearing. When everyone was wearing OG-107 the 75th wore ERDLs, when Big Army switched to M81 the 75th wore OG-107. That changed though sometime after Panama, because by the time I went through Ranger School (1*-*7) everyone wore BDUs and again when going through RIP (***8). That was a hell of a rant for one idea, sorry about that but if you read all of that congratulations. You're welcome Internet. Carpe Noctem Brothers, RLTW P.S. I understand I am sort of contradicting the Command Structure in the above idea but hopefully you get my point. Im not talking about those NCOs in Infantry School, Sniper School, etc. that are stacked and have a sleeve of hash marks on their Class As.

Could find a similar niche in the military, including in the rangers and other special operstions units... but will take quite a commitment to see it all through. Follow your heart, whatever direction it takes you.. thats all i can advise.

Do it now or you’ll always regret not doing it. There’s an age limit to serve in the Army but there’s no age limit to work a cushy corporate office job. I don’t regret my time at all. I’d serve all over again. Good luck!
