The concept of this video is so cool. At first, it looks like Marine is fighting against one common ghost. Later, it is revealed that the mysterious woman was the shadow version of Senchou. But in the final twist, the viewer sees in the flashbacks that ghost Marine is actually the original one. The other Marine is just repeating the cycle of greed and lust that made her imprisoned in the first place. The best part is how the video is full of clues that gives away the twist, like Marine eyes being inverted and acting more cocky and arrogant than the usual. And, of course, the motif of the titular treasure box all over the place.

the layer of meaning underneath the storyline is also very good. the lyrics are all about how marine is getting older and needs to accept it, and in the end she does. she gives up her greed for gold and embraces the ghost captain, who was frozen in time as her forever 17 year old self as she fades away, symbolizing her giving up her desire for eternal youth and accepting her age

I prefer the interpretation that its not just "dark marine" because thats silly but rather her ancestor hence why their appearences are difference with difference in their heterochromia and hair and even frame

@ハンターフラック It can be interpreted as one vicious cycle. Considering the lyrics, that would make sense. The always boastful pirate couldn't imagine her worst enemy would be herself. Time and time again, she gets tangled on her own lust and ego, alienating herself from the rest of the world in the process. That song is about the break of this cycle. Marine realisting her quest for gold and glory is futile and vain. Hence, the dragon being made of gold coins at the finale. With Marine making peace with herself, after destroying her own ship . It's a bittersweet tale

"Vtubers make too much money" I'd argue they make just enough money to be able to tackle the projects they want to accomplish. Especially someone like Marine lives mostly for this creative outlet - so any money she makes is money that goes out to the whole creative community and allows other artists to do what they love as well.

considering senchou is almost always in the red due to the massive, massive budget she gives her MVs, yeah.

Marine _really_ does not do anything by half-measures. She's insane, and I respect her deeply for that

He's surprised by the quality of the video because he hasn't dared touch anything from Marine's channel with a 10-foot barge pole for the past three years. Considering that, him saying "y'all know I'm always down for some frickin' Camelia and Toby Fox like... collaboration action" is especially funny to hear. Prove it!

Even compared to her other MVs this is a step up. This is unique and detailed animations from front to back, with multiple characters involved in action scenes, dynamic camera work and full environment. Her previous works had bits of it and were always of very high production value - but never quite to this extent.

@@SKy_the_Thunder Personally, knowing Marine's attention to detail regarding marketing and branding, I think this is a deliberate choice. A few of her recent songs like treasure box and III were clearly meant to be catchy, repetitive, and viral; this song feels like a creative endeavor with toby in particular to cash in on the raw numbers from previous songs via callbacks to add depth and virtuosic quality to her artistic branding, hence the step up in animation to inspire feelings of awe and beauty
