It's really telling when even the _many_ unanimously-acknowledged technical and graphical shortcomings just can't seem to stop people from being sent straight to Goosebumpsville when they first set foot in Area Zero. And the music, while still a major factor, is most definitely NOT the only one at play, either.

I honestly think a big part of the wow factor was the fact that you *have* to explore it on foot your first time in it which really just emphasizes how big Area Zero is.

My favorite part was that the game had me wondering what Area Zero looked like the entire journey. From that one picture of the paradox Donphan, I imagined it to be a foggy jungle area where tough pokemon could jump out at any moment. And boy, was I wrong. I wasnt expecting the place to be so bright, let alone the crystals.

This sog was so different from anything I heard in a pokemon game (except maybe the mystery dungeon games) and it had such an eerie feeling to it. It made Area Zero ten times more mysterious and the story so much more enticing

The triple drum hit is called a triplet! 8BitDrummer uses a lot of them in this video and they're very used in Metal, since they sound so powerful. :)

If you mean the near instant triple shot on the kick drum, basically akin to 3 kicks happening at almost the same time but slightly out of sync with each other, that's a technique called a "flange".

I can't remember if this was remixed by other artists but the wild area themes were originally by him and remixed by other artists to make each area unique and I love that idea. The music in this game slays every other game (although each year it keeps getting better and I'm down for it!)

Area Zero is such a surreal place, especially the further you get. There's really no way to describe it since even a screenshot can't capture what's so un-real about it. At first I was a little disapponted that it seems so plain when you first get down there, but oh god once the music starts up and you start getting disoriented by the terastal energy thick in the air, making you think there's items everywhere, oh god you really feel like youre in another world.

There's plenty to like in Scarlet and Violet, and plenty to dislike...but I refuse to hear a single person tell me the music is worth disliking. I can respect literally any other opinion on the game lol. But if anyone tries to say they didn't throw their whole soul into the music, especially Area Zero, the world's population will decrease, and I will increase the amount of murder charges I have :^)
